Located on Mashrabat Street in Dahab, The Diving Camel offers a distinctively personal approach to diving in the Red Sea. Operating in partnership with the PADI 5 Star centre Big Blue Dahab, this boutique operation removes the pressure of large groups by focusing entirely on individualised instruction.

Because Dahab is a shore-based destination, you can simply walk from the street into the water. This accessibility makes it an ideal location for both relaxed leisure diving and rigorous technical training, with no need for boat transfers to reach the most iconic sites.

The centre is led by a French instructor with more than 15 years of experience in the industry. This expertise is central to their approach, which prioritises patience and steady progression for every diver.

The instruction is delivered in French and English, ensuring clear communication for a wide range of divers. By focusing on 1:1 sessions, the instructor can tailor the pace and technical details to your specific skill level, whether you are a novice or an experienced technician.

The course catalogue covers the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) and work through Open Water Diver (OWDC) and Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWDC) levels.

For those pursuing professional or technical paths, the centre offers PADI Divemaster (DMT) training, as well as advanced technical courses. These include TEC 40, TEC 45, TEC 50, and Sidemount configurations. Specialized training is also available in Nitrox, Deep diving, Night diving, Navigation, and Buoyancy.

The centre provides a full range of high-quality, clean, and well-fitted rental kit for those not bringing their own. This includes everything required for a standard dive, from regulators to wetsuits.

For those looking to extend their bottom time or dive deeper, Nitrox is available on-site. The facility is designed to support both recreational and technical divers, providing the necessary gases for advanced profiles.

The Red Sea waters here are home to an abundance of marine life. You will encounter various reef fish, including Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and various species of Wrasse (Labridae) and Snappers (Lutjanidae).

Large pelagics and reef sharks are common visitors to the area. You may see various species of Shark (Selachimorpha), including occasional reef sharks (Carcharhinus), and large rays (Batoidea) or Eagle rays (Aetobatus) cruising the water column.

For those interested in macro life, the area offers sightings of Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), Seahorse (Hippocampus), and Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani). You might also spot Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), Stonefish (Synanceia), or various species of Pipefish and Trumpetfish (Aulostomidae).

The seabed and walls are covered in diverse hard and soft corals, including Gorgonian (Gorgonacea), soft corals (Alcyonacea), and various types of sponges (Porifera). Black coral trees (Antipatharia) and various anemones (Actiniaria) provide a complex habitat for smaller creatures like Shrimp (Caridea), Cuttlefish (Sepiidae), and various species of Eel (Anguilliformes).
