Splash Inn is a PADI 5 Star dive centre situated in the centre of West End, Roatan. Set within a boutique hotel on the clear waters of Half Moon Bay, the centre is a proud supporter of the Roatan Marine Park.

The location is ideal for those staying in the West End area, positioned just a short walk from the water and near the water taxi quay for West Bay. It serves as a central hub for divers looking to explore the diverse reefs and wrecks that define the Bay Islands.

The team consists of certified instructors capable of conducting training in English, Spanish, and French. This multilingual approach ensures clear communication during briefings and throughout your certification courses.

Beyond training, the centre operates with a service-oriented mindset, offering a valet service where the team handles your kit before and after each dive. This allows you to focus on your buddy and the underwater environment rather than the logistics of your gear.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses, starting from Discover Scuba Diving and the Open Water Diver qualification. For those looking to progress, they provide Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster training.

Specialty courses are extensive, covering technical skills and interests such as Enriched Air Nitrox, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Drift Diver. You can also refine your skills through Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Navigator, or Search and Recovery training. For those interested in the visual side of diving, Digital Underwater Photography is also on offer.

The centre operates three high-speed boats to transport divers to the surrounding reefs and wrecks. These vessels allow for efficient travel, ensuring you spend more time in the water and less time transiting.

Daily schedules include three departures, with dedicated trips for night diving. For those interested in specific local experiences, the South Side Special package covers sites like Mary’s Place and the Prince Albert wreck.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for divers who do not wish to travel with their own kit. The centre provides all the necessary components for a complete setup.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time. The centre is also equipped to handle various training requirements, from beginner courses to advanced specialties.

The reefs are teeming with life, including Caribbean reef sharks, Eagle ray (Aetobatus), and various species of snapper and grouper. You will frequently encounter green moray eels (Gymnothorax funebris), spotted drum, and large schools of fish including jacks (Carangidae) and blue chromis.

In the sandy areas and coral structures, look for sea turtles, lobsters (Homaridae), and various species of eels. The biodiversity includes many crustaceans such as crabs (Brachyura) and striped coral shrimp, as well as colourful reef fish like butterflyfish (Chaetodon) and parrotfish (Calotomus).

Macro enthusiasts can find a wealth of smaller creatures, including nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and octopuses (Octopus vulgaris). Keep an eye out for scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), trumpetfish (Aulostomidae), and various species of shrimp (Caridea).

The underwater scenery is defined by healthy coral communities, including pillar coral, brain coral, and a variety of soft corals (Alcyonacea) and sea fans (Gorgoniidae). Sponges and sea whips add further texture to the reef walls.

Drift diving is a popular way to experience sites like Canyon Reef. While many sites are accessible to a wide range of divers, be aware that waves, tides, and currents can affect the diving experience, particularly if you are not experienced in moving water.

Night diving is a regular part of the centre's schedule, offering a completely different perspective on the local marine life.
