Quo Vadis Dive Resort

Located on the shores of Panagsama Beach in Moalboal, Quo Vadis Dive Resort serves as a dedicated base for exploring the diverse marine ecosystems of Cebu. The centre is a founding member of the Moalboal Dive Association, which focuses on maintaining local safety and hygiene standards for the diving community.

The resort is positioned to take advantage of the area's most famous features, providing easy access to the massive sardine runs and the surrounding reef systems. Whether you are looking for a relaxed reef holiday or more structured training, the setup is designed to move you from the lounge to the water efficiently.

The team is composed of professional PADI instructors and Divemasters who manage a wide range of diving activities. They operate with a strict ratio of no more than four divers per guide, ensuring that even in more complex environments, you have close supervision.

The centre is a PADI 5 Star facility, meaning they are equipped to handle everything from introductory dives to professional development. They also facilitate specialized training such as Peak Performance Buoyancy and Fish Identification to help you refine your skills in the local environment.

The training programme covers the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the PADI Scuba Diver course, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For those looking to specialise, the centre offers courses including PADI Deep Diver Specialty, Nitrox (Enriched Air) Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy. Professional divers can pursue the Divemaster Development Course, while photography enthusiasts can enrol in Digital Underwater Photographer or Digital Imaging programmes.

The centre operates two boats to service their dive schedules. These vessels facilitate morning sessions of two dives and afternoon sessions of a single dive, covering the local reef and offshore sites like Pescador Island.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. On-site facilities include a dedicated Divers Lounge with sea views, where you can relax between sessions. For those looking to extend their bottom time, Nitrox is available for certified divers.

Accommodation at the resort ranges from economy rooms to luxury suites, all featuring air conditioning, ceiling fans, and refrigerators. The resort also includes a swimming pool and an on-site restaurant to handle meals after your dives.

The local waters are famous for the massive sardine runs, where millions of fish create a moving landscape. You will also encounter various pelagics such as yellowtail barracudas, mackerels, and jack, alongside sea turtles and reef fish.

The reef walls and crevices are home to a vast array of life, including hammerhead sharks, clown triggerfish, and various species of triggerfish (Balistidae). You can also spot large groupers, sweetlips (Plectorhinchus), and different types of scorpionfish.

Macro divers will find a wealth of smaller treasures, including Pegasus Seamoth, ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), and various species of seamoths. The sites are also known for diverse crustaceans like sexy shrimp, peacock mantis shrimp, candy crabs, and orangutan crabs.

For those interested in night diving or searching the reef crevices, the area hosts many specialised creatures such as the blue-ringed octopus, various species of octopus, and several types of crabs and shrimp. During the period from September to December, whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) may also be seen in the area.

Diving at Pescador Island can involve moderate currents, where drift diving is commonly practiced. The sites vary from shallow reef flats to walls that drop to 50 metres, requiring different levels of buoyancy control and experience.
