The Andaman Sea is home to a vast array of pelagic species. Divers may encounter manta rays (Mobula alfredi), whale sharks (Rhincodon typus), and various shark species including leopard sharks (Triakis semifasciata), blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus), and grey sharks. Large predators such as trevallies, jacks (Carangidae), and barracudas are also common visitors to the reefs.

The reef structures themselves are built upon a foundation of diverse hard and soft corals (Alcyonacea), including sea fans (Gorgoniidae) and large barrel sponges. These habitats support colourful populations of reef fish, such as butterflyfish (Chaetodon), angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and various species of snappers (Lutjanus), alongside batfish (Platax) and parrotfish (Calotomus).

For those with an eye for detail, the macro life is exceptional. You can find a variety of nudibranchs, seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus) tucked into the reef. Diving conditions vary depending on the specific site. At Koh Rok, the currents are generally described as low, making it a comfortable location for those preferring more relaxed environments. Other sites, particularly the deeper walls of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang, may present different conditions requiring more experience.
