Go Dive Lanta

Go Dive Lanta has been operating as a dedicated dive resort since 2002. Located on the island of Koh Lanta in the Krabi province, the centre provides a base for exploring some of the most significant dive sites in the Andaman Sea, including the famous Hin Daeng and Hin Muang pinnacles.

The team is composed of experienced instructors and divemasters dedicated to maintaining high professional standards. As an SSI dive resort, they provide a structured environment for both recreational divers and those pursuing professional career paths.

Training is conducted with a focus on small groups, maintaining a maximum ratio of four divers per guide. This approach allows for a personalised experience, whether you are completing your first breaths underwater or working towards a Divemaster certification.

The centre provides a complete syllabus of SSI training, ranging from Basic Diver and Open Water Diver for beginners to advanced professional programmes. For those looking to specialise, courses include Enriched Air Nitrox, Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, and Peak Performance Buoyancy.

More technical and skill-based training is also available, such as Search & Recovery, Underwater Navigator, Drift Diver, and Night & Limited Visibility. For photographers, specific programmes in Digital Underwater Photography are offered to help you capture the marine life of the region.

The M/V Go Dive is a large, traditional wooden boat designed to accommodate up to 40 guests. The vessel features comfortable seating areas for relaxing between dives and dedicated zones for cylinder storage.

A large, covered dive deck allows you to enter and exit the water at your own pace, ensuring a smooth transition for every diver. For full-day excursions, the boat provides breakfast, a Thai food buffet for lunch, tropical fruit, drinking water, soft drinks, coffee, and tea.

The centre offers a full range of rental equipment for those not travelling with their own kit. All rental items are regularly maintained to ensure they are in excellent working order.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time. For those needing extra capacity, 15-litre cylinders can be requested, and rental dive computers are also provided on-site.

The surrounding waters are home to large pelagics and impressive schooling fish. You may encounter Whale shark (Rhincodon typus) and Manta ray (Mobula alfredi) cruising the deeper currents, alongside schools of yellow-striped snapper, trevally, and various Jacks (Carangidae). Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) and Leopard shark (Triakis semifasciata) are also regular visitors to the reefs.

The reef structures are draped in a rich tapestry of life, including various Soft coral (Alcyonacea), hard corals, and large barrel sponges. You will often see colorful reef fish, such as Batfish (Platax), alongside sea anemones inhabited by anemonefish and clownfish (Amphiprion).

For those with an eye for detail, the macro life is abundant. The crevices and sandy patches host Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of shrimp and crabs. You can also find Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus), Frogfish (Antennarius), and Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) tucked away in the coral gardens.

Diving in this region is subject to varying conditions depending on the site. The deep pinnacles of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are known for strong currents, requiring advanced skills to navigate safely.

Other sites, such as the Koh Haa archipelago or Viking Bay, offer more moderate to low currents, making them accessible to a wider range of diver levels. The best time to visit the area is generally between October and April.
