You may encounter various species of Damselfish (Pomacentridae), Cardinalfish (Apogon imberbis), and various types of Sponge (Porifera) or Sea anemone (Actiniaria) decorating the substrate.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, including Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Octopus (Octopoda), Seahorse (Hippocampus), and various Shrimp (Caridea). These smaller inhabitants are often found tucked into the crevices of the lava tubes or the artificial reef.

In the open water and around the reef flats, larger pelagics and schooling fish are common. Look out for Barracuda (Sphyraena), Amberjack (Seriola), Tuna (Thunnus), and schools of sardine. You might also spot Cuttlefish (Sepiidae) or a Ray (Batoidea) gliding along the bottom.

The diving environment in Lanzarote is shaped by its volcanic coastline. Divers should be aware of the requirement for a lanyard when performing dives to depths exceeding 40m.
