Located in Puerto Calero, Calero Diving provides a professional gateway to the Atlantic waters of Lanzarote. The centre is designed for divers who prefer a structured, boat-based approach to exploring the island's underwater topography, from shallow reefs to deeper technical sites.

The operation is built around a commitment to high-end technical standards and diver comfort. Whether you are completing your first certification or pushing into advanced decompression diving, the facilities are geared towards providing a seamless experience from the moment you arrive at the centre.

The team is led by Christian Massaad, a technical diving expert with over 25 years of experience. His extensive background across multiple agencies including SSI, PADI, CMAS, IANTD, and TDI ensures that the centre's technical programmes are held to a rigorous standard.

The instructor team consists of five qualified professionals capable of guiding divers through a wide range of disciplines. This expertise allows the centre to support everything from entry-level recreational courses to complex CCR and Trimix training.

The training catalogue is comprehensive, covering the full spectrum of diving disciplines. For recreational divers, the centre offers SSI and PADI courses including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver, as well as specialised training like Perfect Buoyancy and Navigation.

Technical divers will find a highly developed curriculum. The centre provides advanced training in Decompression Diving, Extended Range Wreck Diving, and Technical Wreck Diving. For those moving into closed-circuit technology, there are courses for CCR diving, including CCR Extended Range and CCR Hypoxic Trimix.

Professional development is also a core part of the centre's offering. They provide pathways for those looking to progress to Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Instructor, alongside the Dive Professional Crossover programme.

All dives are conducted from a RIB, ensuring quick transit to the best sites and the ability to navigate the Atlantic conditions effectively. The boat is equipped to provide a comfortable platform for divers, with areas to rest between descents.

On board, you will find essential amenities including shade and water. The boat is fully prepared for various dive profiles, including night dives, ensuring you can reach the sites even after the sun has set.

The shore-based facilities are extensive, featuring a large covered terrace, a comfortable lounge area, and a dedicated space for technical equipment and cameras. Divers have access to hot showers, changing rooms, and secure lockers to manage their kit.

The gas blending station is a standout feature, utilising modern electronic controls to ensure the purity of the gases supplied. The centre provides high-purity air, Nitrox, and Trimix, with gases stored in 300 bar banks for efficient and rapid filling.

For those not travelling with their own kit, a full range of rental equipment is available. This includes recent, well-maintained regulators, BCDs, and exposure suits, allowing you to dive without the logistical burden of transporting heavy gear.

The local marine life is diverse, with the volcanic reefs hosting a variety of larger species. You can expect to see rays, angelsharks, and great barracuda patrolling the waters, alongside various species of fish and cuttlefish.

On the deeper structures and wrecks, the environment supports a range of interesting inhabitants. The reef areas are often visited by larger pelagic species passing through the open water near the drop-offs.

Macro life and smaller residents add detail to the underwater scenery, with various species of fish and cephalopods inhabiting the crevices of the volcanic rock and the sheltered areas of the wrecks.
