Histoire d'Eau

Histoire d'Eau is located in the coastal area of Erquy, serving as a gateway to the diverse marine landscapes of the Bretagne coastline. The centre is centred around the Cap d'Erquy, a location known for its varied underwater topography and biological richness.

The association provides a structured approach to diving, offering morning exploration dives and afternoon introductory sessions. This allows divers to choose between guided excursions to established sites or discovering the underwater world for the first time.

The centre operates as a diving association with a focus on a wide variety of aquatic disciplines. Beyond standard scuba diving, they offer specialised activities such as subwing, underwater fishing, and adaptive diving for rehabilitation purposes.

Training is organised seasonally to ensure progression. From October to April, sessions are held in the pool, while the remainder of the year is dedicated to sea-based training and exploration.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of training programmes. For beginners, they provide Niveau 1 (PE20) and introductory sessions. For those looking to progress, they offer Niveau 2 (PA20 and PE40) and Niveau PA12.

Advanced training includes the Initiateur course and pedagogical stages for those interested in instruction. The association also organises specialised training sessions for freediving (entraînement à l’apnée) and PMT training.

The fleet consists of three dedicated vessels. The Histoire d'Eau and Dromie are 11.80 m and 9.50 m aluminium vedettes, providing stable platforms for diving. The Jambo is a 7 m semi-rigid, suited for more agile movements.

These boats are equipped with essential safety gear, including VHF radio, sonar, and GPS. The larger vessels can accommodate up to 29 divers, while the smaller craft are suited for groups of 21 or 12, depending on the specific boat used.

The marine life around Cap d'Erquy is diverse, with a strong presence of fish, mollusks, and various crustaceans. Divers can expect to encounter a wide range of mobile species throughout the seabed.

For those interested in macro life, the area is home to various crustaceans and mollusks that inhabit the reef and sandy patches. The biological diversity is a key feature of the local underwater environment.

Fixed life also plays a significant role in the local ecosystem, providing structure for the various fish and mollusk species that inhabit the area.
