Octopus

Octopus is a diving school situated in Pors Kamor, a coastal location on the Côte de Granit Rose within the Côtes d'Armor region of Brittany. Since opening in 2023, the centre has focused on providing a professional environment for both beginners and experienced divers looking to explore the local subaquatic landscape.

The diving here is defined by the unique granite formations and dense kelp forests that characterise this part of the French coast. These underwater structures create a complex environment that supports a high level of biodiversity, offering plenty of interest for those navigating the reefs and swim-throughs.

The school is led by Bérangère Duplessis, a professional instructor holding a state diploma in youth, education, and sport. This professional oversight ensures a structured and supervised environment for all activities, whether you are completing your first certification or heading out on an exploration.

Operating under the SSI and ANMP affiliations, the centre provides a range of training and guided diving. All divers are required to present a valid medical certificate for explorations and training, along with their certification level, logbook, and up-to-date CACI.

The school offers a comprehensive range of training through SSI and ANMP. Beginners can start with introductory dives or work towards their Open Water Diver certification.

For those looking to progress, the centre provides Advanced Open Water Diver courses and other specialised certifications to help refine your skills in the local granite environments.

The centre operates a 7.5-metre semi-rigid boat equipped with twin engines for reliable performance. This vessel has a capacity for 12 divers, making it suitable for both small groups and larger outings to the coastal sites.

Octopus provides full equipment hire for divers, featuring high-quality, new kit from Aqualung. This includes everything required for a complete dive setup, ensuring you can arrive on-site without needing to carry your own heavy gear.

Nitrox is available for those looking to extend their bottom time during explorations or training sessions.

The underwater landscape is defined by rich kelp forests and complex granite structures. These habitats provide a home for a diverse array of marine life, making every dive an opportunity to observe the local ecosystem in action.
