Carnac Plongee Dive Center

Carnac Plongée Dive Center is situated within the Yacht Club de Carnac, providing a dedicated base for diving in Southern Brittany. The centre is perfectly positioned to access the diverse underwater landscapes of the region, from the open waters of the Baie de Quiberon to the more sheltered environments of the Ria d'Étel.

Whether you are looking to explore local wrecks or navigate the islands of the Golfe du Morbihan, the centre provides the logistical support needed for a productive dive. The location offers direct access to the sea via a slipway or through a supervised beach, making the transition from land to water efficient for both boat departures and shore dives.

The centre is led by Patrice Robert, a State Diploma Diver and PADI MSDT Instructor. This dual affiliation ensures that you receive professional guidance whether you are following the French Federation (FFESSM) curriculum or the PADI training system.

Instruction is tailored to the individual, with programmes available for all ages, including children starting from 8 years old. The centre focuses on environmental respect and personalised supervision to help you progress safely through your training levels.

Training is available through both PADI and FFESSM frameworks, allowing you to choose the certification path that suits you best. The course catalogue ranges from initial discovery dives and introductory sessions to full certification courses.

For those looking to advance, the centre provides training for various levels, including Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver. The instruction is geared towards helping you evolve comfortably in the water through structured, professional guidance.

The centre operates the Maeva II, a 7.50m semi-rigid vessel designed for speed and comfort. Equipped with a 250 CV engine, it allows for quick transit to the dive sites of the Morbihan, including the waters around Houat.

The boat has a capacity of 12 people and is fully equipped with all the necessary kit for a successful outing. It serves as a stable platform for both exploration trips and training sessions.

The centre is a partner of Aqualung, ensuring that the rental kit provided is modern, well-maintained, and high-performing. You can hire a full range of equipment on-site, covering everything required for your dives.

Onshore, the facilities are designed for convenience, featuring spacious premises with separate male and female changing rooms and hot showers. There is also a catering service available on-site for use between dives.

The centre offers access to several different marine environments, from the more exposed areas of the bay to the sheltered Ria d'Étel. The Ria d'Étel, being a coastal inlet with various islets, provides a degree of natural protection for certain dive profiles.
