Trieux Plongee

Located at the Maison de la Mer in the port of Lézardrieux, Trieux Plongée served as a dedicated hub for divers looking to explore the Brittany coastline. The centre was positioned conveniently by the main port parking and the Bar du Yacht, providing easy access to the water for both local and visiting divers.

The centre focused on the unique underwater landscape of the Bréhat Archipelago. This area is defined by a complex topography of islands, islets, and rocks that emerge and submerge with the tidal cycles, creating a highly varied environment for exploration.

The centre was managed by a professional DEJEPS instructor and operated under the FFESSM and ANMP affiliations. This provided a structured framework for all training and exploration activities.

Teaching and activities were diverse, catering to divers from age 8 through to advanced levels. The centre's expertise extended beyond standard scuba diving to include breath-hold diving (apnée), underwater fishing (pêche sous-marine), and finning excursions (randonnée palmée).

Training was available through the FFESSM system, covering a comprehensive range of certifications. Beginners could start with introductory sessions (baptêmes) and the N1 level, progressing through N2 and N3.

For more specialised training, the centre offered PE 40, PA 20, and PA 40 courses. The curriculum also included breath-hold diving and underwater fishing instruction.

The centre operated two distinct vessels to suit different diving needs. A 5.85m semi-rigid was available for more agile movements, while the larger 9m polyester boat could accommodate up to 16 divers.

The 9m boat was designed for comfort and utility in all seasons, featuring a sheltered area, a wide aft deck, a dedicated launch platform, and two ladders for easy ascent. This setup made it well-suited for longer trips out to the archipelago.

The centre provided a full range of equipment hire for divers. This included all the necessary kit for recreational diving, with equipment maintained to suit the specific conditions of the Breton coast.

On-site facilities included a dedicated office and storage areas for small equipment, providing a functional base for preparing for dives.

The diving environment is heavily influenced by the tidal cycles, which dictate the exposure of the many rocks and islets within the archipelago. This movement of water creates a dynamic landscape that divers must account for when planning their routes.

Conditions are suitable for diving in all seasons, though the rugged nature of the seabed and the presence of numerous reefs and rocks mean that divers should be prepared for a varied underwater topography.
