Club De Plongee Bastiais

Located at the Port de Plaisance de Toga in Bastia, Club de Plongée Bastiais serves as a gateway to the diverse marine environments of the Corsican coast. The centre is positioned to take you directly to a variety of underwater features, from shallow coves to deeper rocky walls and wrecks.

The club operates with a focus on professional standards, utilising FFESSM and ANMP frameworks to guide both recreational explorers and those pursuing formal qualifications. The local waters offer a range of environments suitable for different skill levels, with summer temperatures reaching 25°C.

The team is composed of State-certified instructors (Moniteurs brevetés d'État) providing professional supervision for all activities. The centre also serves as a training ground for MF1 and DEJEPS candidates, who work under the supervision of an E4 instructor.

Beyond standard recreational diving, the club is equipped to handle groups and associations, and maintains conventions with local holiday centres. For divers with specific needs, the centre is accessible to persons with reduced mobility (PMR), supported by trained instructors.

Training is primarily structured around the FFESSM and ANMP frameworks. For those starting their journey, the centre offers FFESSM Niveau 1, which includes five dives and theoretical coursework, as well as discovery dives (baptêmes) for those aged 8 and over.

Progressive training continues through FFESSM Niveau 2 and Niveau 3, covering advanced techniques and deeper diving. The club also provides specialized training such as PE 12 (3 dives), PE 40 (3 dives for supervised diving to 40m), and RIFAP. For those looking to professionalise, the centre supports various instructor-level pathways and accommodates trainees working towards MF1 and DEJEPS certifications.

The centre maintains a full range of rental equipment for divers who prefer not to carry their own kit. This includes regulators, wetsuits, fins, and torches for night diving, as well as dive computers and buoyancy control devices.

On-site facilities at the Port de Toga include secure changing rooms and hot showers for use after your dives. A dedicated shop is also available on-site for divers' needs.

The local marine life is characterised by various predators and large invertebrates. You can regularly encounter groupers, moray eels, and giant octopuses amongst the rocks and ledges.

The rocky habitats and crevices are well-populated with diverse species, providing plenty of interest for those observing the reef structure. The Mediterranean environment here supports a healthy ecosystem of fish and invertebrates.
