A L'Eau Rando

Located in the charming port of Cargèse, A L'EAU RANDO provides a gateway to the rich underwater landscapes of Corsica. The centre operates primarily through boat excursions, taking you away from the shore to discover the varied topography of the Mediterranean seabed.

The focus here is on guided exploration, whether you are venturing beneath the surface with fins and a mask or taking a more structured approach to the local reefs. The proximity to diverse sites ensures that every trip offers a different perspective on the local marine environment.

The centre is led by Romain, a state-qualified instructor (moniteur d'état) who personally accompanies guests in the water. This ensures a high level of expertise and safety, particularly during the snorkeling sessions where the instructor provides direct guidance and information on the species you encounter.

All excursions are designed to be accessible, with no specific physical requirements mentioned, making them suitable for a wide range of abilities. To enhance the experience, the team provides waterproof identification cards, allowing you to identify the fish and invertebrates you see during your time in the water.

The centre offers introductory experiences such as Discover Scuba Diving (baptême de plongée) for those new to the underwater world. They also provide specialised outings and guided snorkeling sessions led by professional instructors.

Excursions depart from the port of Cargèse, navigating to various sites around the coast. Depending on the trip selected, you will spend between 90 minutes and 3 hours on the water, reaching sites such as Capo Rosso within a 20-minute transit.

The rocky reefs and caves are home to a variety of larger fish. You can expect to see groupers, saddled seabream, and various species of damselfish, including the colourful peacock wrasse. Large schools of castagnoles are also common around the Capo Rosso area.

In the crevices and amongst the sponges, you will find a range of invertebrates. Sea urchins and various sponges provide habitat for smaller creatures, while the rocky terrain is ideal for spotting different types of Mediterranean marine life.

For those looking for something more significant, there is the possibility of encountering dolphins during your excursions. The team keeps a watchful eye on the water to help you spot these pelagics during the boat transit.
