Sharm Divers Club

Sharm Divers Club is a professionally licensed diving centre established in 2005, situated at the Pick albatros Royal Grand Sharm in the Hadaba district of Sharm El Sheikh. For those pursuing a career or advanced skill sets, they offer Professional Divers training. Their curriculum is built around professional standards to ensure you are prepared for the specific conditions found in the Red Sea.

The reefs are defined by a rich architecture of hard corals (Scleractinia) and soft corals (Alcyonacea). You will find extensive Gorgonia fans and various sea fans (Gorgoniidae) decorating the walls, alongside Porites coral heads and large table corals.

Large pelagics are a regular feature of the deeper waters and the currents. You can expect to see various sharks (Selachimorpha), including reef sharks (Carcharhinus) and whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus), as well as large groups of tuna (Thunnus) and various jackfish. During the July and August peak, the reefs become incredibly active with large schools of snappers (Lutjanus), batfish (Platax), and great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda).

In the shallower reef areas, the biodiversity includes many colourful species such as angelfish (Pomacanthidae), butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and various parrotfish (Calotomus). Schools of fusilier (Caesio) and anthias (Anthias) add constant movement to the reef structure.

For those interested in smaller life, the crevices and sandy patches host a variety of species. You can observe octopus (Octopus vulgaris), scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), and various species of stingrays (Batoidea), including blue spotted stingrays. Garden eels (Gorgasia) are often found in the sandy areas near the reef edges.

Divers should be prepared for varying conditions, as many of the premier sites are subject to strong currents. Sites like Shark & Yolanda Reef and Jackson Reef can offer high-speed drift dives or 'roller coaster' current shifts.

Swell and rougher surface conditions can occur, particularly when visiting the SS Dunraven Wreck or certain areas of Jackson Reef. Weather conditions also dictate accessibility at Thomas Reef, as the western side can be difficult for boat pick-ups in certain sea states.
