Nautilus Dive Tech

Located in Cabo San Lucas, Nautilus Dive Tech has been a fixture of the local diving community since 1998. While it began as a specialised technical school, it has evolved into a comprehensive PADI 5 Star centre that caters to the full spectrum of divers, from those taking their first breaths underwater to advanced technical divers exploring the deep.

The team is composed of highly qualified professionals, including Master Scuba Diver Instructors, PADI Instructors, and specialised Tec Guides. The presence of zoologists on staff adds a layer of biological expertise to the guided excursions, making it a strong choice for those interested in marine life documentation.

Beyond instruction, the centre is deeply integrated into regional conservation efforts. They collaborate with organisations such as Sea Shepherd and Sinergia Azul, contributing a portion of their income to support local wildlife monitoring and coral health research.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering the full PADI progression from Open Water Diver to Divemaster and Instructor Development Courses (IDC). They offer specialised recreational training such as the PADI Reef Survey Diver Specialty and Deep Diving.

For technical divers, the centre provides advanced instruction in Double tanks, Trimix diving, and Rebreather use. Their long history as a technical school means the curriculum is built around the complexities of deep and gas-management diving.

The shore-based facilities are designed for serious divers, featuring a dedicated tank filling room equipped with an O2 booster for Nitrox mixing. For those looking to practice skills before heading offshore, there is an on-site 14-foot deep pool available.

The centre also maintains a full scuba store and an equipment maintenance room. Divers can make use of the lockers, showers, and an outdoor kitchen, with light snacks and refreshments provided during the diving day.

The region is famous for its large pelagic animals. You can encounter hammerhead sharks (Sphyrna lewini), Manta rays (Mobula alfredi), and Whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) on the offshore seamounts. Bull sharks (Carcharhinus leucas) and various other shark species are also part of the local ecosystem.

In the living reefs of Cabo Pulmo, the biodiversity is immense, featuring schools of Jacks (Carangidae), giant Groupers (Epinephelus), and various snapper schools. Sea turtles (Cheloniidae) and Sea lions are frequently seen throughout the area.

The underwater scenery is defined by vibrant coral structures, including black coral and wire coral. These habitats support a wide array of life, from Tuna (Thunnus) and marlins to smaller residents like bonitos and various fish species.
