Whether you are looking to explore the colourful reef flats or navigate the intricate swim-throughs of a freshwater cave, the centre provides the logistical support needed for both environments. The area is known for its year-round diving opportunities and a wide variety of underwater landscapes.

As a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, Dune Mexico operates with a high level of professional accreditation. The centre has been established since 1997, bringing nearly three decades of experience to the local diving community.

Instruction is conducted by a professional team focused on safety and technical proficiency. The centre is equipped to handle a range of diver needs, from those beginning their journey to more experienced divers looking to expand their skills in the local reefs and cenotes.

Dune Mexico offers a full spectrum of PADI training programmes. Beginners can start with introductory courses, while those looking to progress can work through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

The centre is an IDC centre, meaning it is equipped to provide professional-level instruction and training for those pursuing advanced diving qualifications.

The centre provides a range of equipment for hire to suit different diving requirements. This includes regulators, fins, masks, and wetsuits for those not travelling with their own kit.

For night dives, torches are available for rent. The facility is designed to support divers preparing for trips to both the offshore reefs and the inland cenote sites.

The reefs are teeming with life, including large schools of colourful reef fish, parrotfish (Calotomus), and surgeonfish (Acanthuridae). You will often see larger pelagics such as eagle rays (Aetobatus), manta rays (Mobula alfredi), and various species of stingrays (Batoidea). Sharks are also present, including reef sharks (Carcharhinus), nurse sharks (Ginglymostoma cirratum), and Caribbean reef sharks.

The hard and soft coral structures provide a complex habitat for many species. You can observe various soft corals (Alcyonacea), sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and brain corals, alongside sponges (Porifera) and sea anemones (Actiniaria). Large groups of fish like jacks (Carangidae), snappers (Lutjanus), and grunts frequently move through these coral gardens.

For those interested in macro life, the environment is rich with detail. You can find nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and various crustaceans including lobster (Homaridae) and shrimp (Caridea). Other notable sightings include octopus (Octopus vulgaris), scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), and garden eels (Gorgasia).

Diving in the region is possible year-round due to the stable tropical climate. The local reef and cenote environments offer different conditions, with the cenotes providing calm, protected freshwater environments compared to the coastal reefs.
