Odyssee Plongee

Located at the Port Tino Rossi in Ajaccio, Odyssée Plongée has been a fixture of the Corsican diving scene since 2001. The centre is built around a passion for the Mediterranean, providing a base for divers to explore the diverse marine environments of the Ajaccio Gulf.

The club operates with a focus on safety and professional standards, offering a dual approach to training. You can choose between the internationally recognised PADI curriculum or the French FFESSM/CMAS system, ensuring that whether you are a traveller or a local enthusiast, your progression is handled with precision.

The team is composed of nine instructors, all holding state qualifications such as the Brevet d'État (1st or 2nd degree). This depth of expertise allows the centre to manage a wide variety of diving profiles, from introductory sessions to advanced professional training.

Instruction is delivered in both French and English, making the centre accessible to an international community. The staff emphasises a convivial atmosphere while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols, a culture developed over more than two decades of operation.

Odyssée Plongée offers an extensive catalogue of courses covering all levels of experience. For those starting out, they provide PADI Discover Scuba Diving and various entry-level certifications, including PADI Open Water Diver and the FFESSM Niveau 1. They also offer specific pathways for those transitioning between systems, such as the bridge from Open Water Diver to Niveau 1.

Advanced divers can progress through PADI specialties like Deep Diver and Night Diver, or move through the FFESSM levels up to Niveau 4 (Guide de Palanquée). The centre is also a training hub for professionals, offering PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) courses, as well as FFESSM instructor training (MF1).

Technical training is also available, with Nitrox certifications (both PADI and FFESSM/CMAS) and Trimix training for those looking to extend their depth limits.

The centre operates two 7.5m semi-rigid boats, ISIS and HORUS, powered by 200 CV and 250 CV engines respectively. Both vessels are designed for efficiency and can carry up to 18 divers or 24 passengers, making them ideal for both small groups and larger excursions.

On board, you will find all necessary safety equipment, including oxygen therapy, a safety cylinder, a first aid kit, and communication tools. For the specialised 'Double Tank' outings, which take place once a month on Saturdays, the centre provides a 'spuntinu' snack on board to enjoy between dives.

The shore base at Port Tino Rossi includes a 50m² nautic area with two changing rooms and a 30m² classroom equipped with modern pedagogical tools. For those requiring kit hire, the centre provides a full range of Aqualung equipment, including Wave 5.5mm wetsuits, Wave BCDs, and Calypso New regulators, alongside masks, fins, cylinders of various capacities, and weights.

Safety is a priority on land as well as at sea, with oxygen therapy and a dedicated first aid station always available. The centre also provides torches for night diving sessions, which are organised every other Tuesday.
