Club de Plongée de Cornouaille

Located in Concarneau, the Club de Plongée de Cornouaille (CPC) has been a staple of the local diving community since 1961. As a volunteer-run association, the club maintains a long-standing tradition of making subaquatic activities accessible to a wide range of divers.

The club operates from the Maison de la Mer in Trégunc, providing easy access to the maritime environments of the region. Whether you are looking to start your training or advance your technical skills, the club's long history in Brittany ensures a seasoned approach to every excursion.

The club is managed by a dedicated team of volunteers, which allows for a broad range of activities at an accessible cost. This community-focused structure has supported the local diving scene for over sixty years.

Instructional offerings are comprehensive, covering everything from initial discovery dives to professional instructor training. The club also supports specialized disciplines, including handi-plongée for adaptive diving and competitive sections for fins swimming (NAP) and open water swimming (NEV).

The club provides a complete curriculum of training, starting with introductory discovery dives and progressing through the full FFESSM certification ladder, including Niveau 1, Niveau 2, and Niveau 3. For those looking to specialise, Nitrox courses are available.

Advanced training paths are also supported, ranging from the Initiateur level to the Guide de Palanquée and even the Monitorat for those pursuing a professional career. The club also facilitates training for the Bio certification.

The club operates the Kernev, a fast motor vessel capable of transporting up to 19 divers. This boat is used to reach approximately fifty different dive sites throughout the region.

Nitrox is available on board for divers looking to extend their bottom time. The Kernev provides a reliable platform for exploring the various drop-offs and plateaus characteristic of the local coastline.

The marine life in this region is notably abundant and colourful. You will find a variety of species inhabiting the rocky plateaus and drop-offs that define the local underwater topography.

The seabed is often covered in diverse fixed life, creating a complex habitat for the local fauna. This includes various sponges and other sessile organisms that thrive on the rocky structures.

Macro life is a highlight for many divers, with a variety of crustaceans and other small organisms inhabiting the crevices of the reefs and wrecks.

The best period for diving in this area is from April to October. During these months, the marine environment is most active.
