A Piaghja Diving Calvi

Diving Calvi a Piaghja is positioned at the entrance of Calvi, offering a rare 'feet in the water' experience. The centre is set against the backdrop of the citadel, providing a convenient and scenic base for your dives in the Mediterranean.

Operating from April through November, the club focuses on a personalised approach to diving. Whether you are looking for your first breath underwater or seeking to explore technical sites, the setup is designed to move you from the beach to the boat with minimal fuss.

The team is led by Teddy, an E4 State Diploma instructor, as well as SSI OWI and PADI OWSI qualified instructors. This ensures a high standard of safety and technical knowledge across all levels of training.

Sarah manages the reception and organisation, ensuring the logistics of your dive day run smoothly. The centre operates with a maximum ratio of four divers per guide, allowing for close supervision and a more intimate experience on the boat.

Multilingual support is available in French, English, and German, making it easy to communicate during briefings and training. The club also maintains a partnership with Sea Shepherd, reflecting an active commitment to the protection of the local marine environment.

A comprehensive range of training is available through PADI, SSI, and FFESSM affiliations. Beginners can start with courses such as Basic Diver, Scuba Diver, or Open Water Diver, while those looking to progress can pursue Advanced Open Water or specialty courses like Deep Diving, Navigation, and Perfect Buoyancy.

For those following the French FFESSM system, the centre offers the full progression from Niveau 1 through to Niveau 4, including the Bronze, Silver, and Gold diver levels. Specialized training such as Diver Stress and Rescue is also available to help you build confidence and safety skills.

The centre operates two semi-rigid boats for dive departures. These vessels allow for efficient transit to the various reefs and wrecks surrounding the Cap de la Revellata.

On board, you will find water and snacks provided for your comfort during the trip. The boats facilitate direct access to the dive sites, ensuring that time is spent in the water rather than in transit.

The centre provides a range of rental kit, including wetsuits, BCDs, regulators, and dive computers. Equipment is regularly renewed to maintain reliability and diver comfort.

Shore-based facilities include a dedicated storage area for your gear, changing rooms with individual lockers, and hot showers for use after your dives. The centre is also equipped with a spacious parking area adjacent to the site.

The rocky reefs and canyons of the area are home to a variety of large Mediterranean species. You will often encounter groupers, common dentex, and brown meagre, alongside barracuda and gilthead seabream. Moray eels and octopuses are frequently seen patrolling the crevices of the underwater landscape.

For those interested in macro life, the seabed and gorgonians host a wealth of smaller creatures. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs, sea fans, and various corals that add colour to the rockwork, as well as slipper lobsters and small crustaceans.

The surrounding walls and drop-offs are also populated by dentex, sea fans, and various species of gorgonians, creating a vibrant ecosystem across the different depths.

Diving in this region is best experienced from April to November. The sites vary from shallow sandy coves to deeper rocky structures and wrecks, depending on your certification level and experience.
