Eleuthera Bora Diving Center

Bora Diving Center is a long-established 5-star dive centre situated on the southern side of the island at Matira Beach. Having operated since 1992, the team brings over 33 years of local experience to the waters of French Polynesia, providing a reliable base for both recreational exploration and formal training.

The centre is positioned to accommodate various diving styles, from relaxed reef exploration to more structured programmes. With a focus on flexibility, they offer both morning sessions consisting of two tank dives and afternoon sessions for those with tighter schedules.

The team is composed of 9 professional instructors, ensuring a high level of expertise and guidance for all divers. This staffing level allows for a personalised approach, whether you are diving as part of a group or opting for a private instructor.

As a PADI 5 Star and CMAS affiliated centre, the instruction meets rigorous international standards. The centre is also officially recognised by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of French Polynesia for underwater teaching and practice.

A comprehensive range of training is available through PADI and CMAS. Beginners can start with an Introductory Dive or the Discovery Program, while those seeking certification can progress through Scuba Diving Level 1, PADI Scuba Diver, and the PADI Open Water Diver course.

For more experienced divers, the centre offers the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course and the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver specialty. They also provide a Refresh Dive for those looking to brush up on their skills before heading back into the water.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit, including 3-4mm short and long wetsuits in various sizes. For those who prefer to bring their own regulator, the centre uses aluminium cylinders equipped with both Yoke and DIN valves to suit different requirements.

Reliability is a priority, with the centre opting for Aqualung regulators and BCDs. All equipment is regularly maintained and replaced to ensure safety and comfort during your dives.

The surrounding waters are home to a variety of large pelagics and reef residents. You can expect to encounter manta rays, spotted eagle rays, and various species of turtles. The reefs are also frequented by Napoleon wrasse and several types of sharks, including blacktip and lemon sharks.

The reef architecture provides a home for a diverse array of fish, including various reef inhabitants that patrol the coral structures. These encounters are a staple of the local marine ecosystem.

Macro life and smaller residents can be found throughout the various dive sites, providing plenty of detail for those who enjoy searching the reef for smaller organisms.

The local waters remain warm throughout the year, typically ranging between 26°C and 29°C. The centre operates every day of the year, making it a consistent option for divers visiting the island.
