Y Aka Plongée

Y Aka Plongée is situated in Avatoru on the atoll of Rangiroa, one of the most iconic diving destinations in French Polynesia. The centre operates with a philosophy rooted in 'fun diving', ensuring that the primary focus remains on the joy of discovery and the spectacular marine life that defines this region.

As a structure of human scale, the centre offers a more personal approach to diving. You can expect a professional environment where the priority is sharing exceptional underwater moments in the vast, blue waters of the Pacific.

The centre is run by experienced professionals who prioritise safety and a relaxed, convivial atmosphere. This human-scale approach allows for a more tailored experience, making it easy to connect with your guide and fellow divers.

All training and guided dives are conducted under the affiliation of the ANMP. The team is dedicated to providing high-quality instruction and guiding, ensuring that every diver, from those on their first Discovery Dive to advanced practitioners, feels secure and supported.

A full range of training is available through the ANMP. Beginners can start with a Discovery Dive, which includes two training dives, a dive log, and certification. This is followed by the ANMP Level 1 course, which consists of four training dives and the necessary theory.

For more advanced divers, the centre offers the ANMP Level 2 course, which involves ten training dives and two sessions of two-hour theory courses. The PE 40 course is also available, comprising four training dives along with theory and certification.

The centre provides complete equipment hire for all divers, covering everything you need for your sessions in the water. This includes regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, masks, fins, and other essential kit.

For those looking to extend their training or log more dives, complementary training dives are available to ensure your skills are sharp before moving on to new certifications.

The waters surrounding Rangiroa are famous for their large pelagics. You can regularly expect to encounter dolphins, rays, and sea turtles patrolling the reefs and sandy areas.

Sharks are a significant part of the local ecosystem, with many different species living within the atoll. These encounters are a highlight for divers looking to experience the raw beauty of Polynesian marine life.

Beyond the larger animals, the reefs are home to a diverse array of marine life that makes every dive unique, from the smaller inhabitants of the coral structures to the constant movement of the surrounding currents.
