Lombok International Airport LOP

One terminal serves Bali, the Gilis and all of northeast Bali but visa-free transit here has a hard limit: 8 hours, and only if you never leave the international zone.

How long is your layover?

2 hrs

One building helps, but nothing guarantees a transit without a fresh check.

  • Single terminal, domestic and international under one roof arrivals on level 1, departures on level 2, all on foot.
  • A general guide suggests 2 hrs before a domestic flight, 3 hrs before an international one check-in margins, not an official minimum connection time.
  • ⚠️ Any change of status (international to domestic or the reverse) means passing passport control and security again; the official website stays vague on domestic-to-domestic flights ('except where necessary').

2–5 hrs

The Wi-Fi is free; for everything else, bank on the lounge rather than the terminal.

  • Free Wi-Fi in both the domestic and international zones.
  • ⚠️ No dedicated rest area is documented just the standard seating in the departure lounge.
  • ⚠️ No shower confirmed in the terminal itself; some sources mention lounge showers without reliable backing the Concordia Lounge remains the safe bet.
  • Restaurants, cafés and vending machines exist on the departures side, all paid.

5–10 hrs

Leaving the airport needs sorting before the flight unless you stay strictly within the international zone.

  • NO VISA in Indonesia, a transit under 8 hours is possible without a visa at airports other than Jakarta, provided you stay in the international zone, without clearing immigration or collecting baggage.
  • VISA REQUIRED the moment you leave that zone (to reach Kuta or Senggigi, say), a Visitor Visa (e-VOA online or VOA on arrival) is required for FR/DE/IT/ES/UK/PT, valid for 30 days.
  • ⚠️ No official city tour is run by the airport. Private transfers to Kuta or Senggigi are standard commercial services.

10 hrs +

Two addresses a few minutes away, one of them built for a layover rather than a full night.

  • VISA REQUIRED the Swiss-Belcourt Lombok, 2.5 km away, offers a '6-Hour Transit Retreat' package sized for a layover, with an airport shuttle.
  • The ILLIRA Lite Praya Lombok, a 5-minute drive away, offers a free airport shuttle an alternative for a proper night's sleep.
  • ⚠️ No airside hotel exists at Lombok: both options mean clearing immigration.
  • Don't count on a free night from the airline: no documented policy for Lombok check directly with the carrier.

What catches travellers out

The 8 hours aren't a flat allowance, they're a condition

Plenty of travellers read it as 'under 8 hrs = no visa needed', full stop. The rule also requires staying in the international zone without collecting your bags even a brief trip into town knocks it out.

Indonesia is no longer visa-free for you

Same trap as Manado: the old exemption has been tightened and no longer covers most European passports. Check the current regime before counting on an easy trip out to Kuta or Senggigi.

No shower confirmed outside the lounge

The sources on lounge showers aren't cross-checked rely only on the Concordia Lounge, or on one of the two landside addresses, to get clean.

Why not wait it out in peace?

For subtitles in English: start the video firstthen click the gearat the top right of the video, select “Subtitles/CC”, then “Auto-translate” and choose “English”.

The Concordia Lounge is paid for at the door, no card or status required and it takes both international and domestic passengers.

It's on the domestic departures side, third floor, near the Garuda Indonesia gate pay as you go with a day pass, or use a prepaid pass or a card scheme.

Wi-Fi, a spa and a quieter zone are all part of the deal enough to turn a long wait into an actual break, though a shower in the terminal itself isn't confirmed.

It's the only lounge documented at Lombok other names doing the rounds online ('Lounge A/B') aren't backed by a second source.

Budget the equivalent of a sit-down airport meal for three hours of quiet.

Where to sleep during the layover?

VISA REQUIREDSwiss-Belcourt Lombok

2.5 km out, with a package of a few hours built for a layover, not a full night.

  • The '6-Hour Transit Retreat' package targets the transit passenger specifically a better fit than a full night's stay if your layover fits that window.
  • Airport shuttle available; as with any trip out from Lombok, it means clearing immigration.

The diver’s reflex

The 8-hour visa-free transit evaporates the moment you step outside the international zone

To reach the Gilis, Amed or Tulamben without a visa, you have to stay strictly within the international zone the moment you clear immigration, collect your bags or change zone, that status is gone and standard entry rules apply.

Sort the e-VOA before boarding if you're heading to the Gilis by road

As everywhere in Indonesia since the visa rules tightened, FR/DE/IT/ES/UK/PT no longer enter without formalities. If your plan is a transfer on to the Gilis or Bali, a Visitor Visa (e-VOA online, a matter of minutes) saves an unplanned wait at the counter.

Torch batteries and camera housings: the rule is general, not specific to Lombok

The airport publishes no rule of its own; what applies is your airline's standard, built on Indonesian and IATA norms cabin only, terminals protected, check the exact policy before a domestic flight on to a smaller island.
