Fun Baja provides a complete PADI training curriculum. You can begin with Discovery Scuba Diving and progress through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses.

For those looking to advance their technical skills or professional career, they offer PADI Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Nitrox, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Navigation courses. They also conduct specialized training in Stress and Rescue and First Aid, alongside dedicated Night Diving courses.

The fleet consists of nine vessels, including the Valentina, a luxury cruise boat used for multi-day trips to the Socorro Islands. These expeditions allow you to reach remote sites like The Boiler and The Canyon, which are otherwise difficult to access on day trips.

For local excursions, the boats provide a comfortable platform for both divers and snorkelers. Most trips include lunch, water, soft drinks, and local beer on board, with hot coffee and tea available in the mornings.

The Sea of Cortez is a high-biodiversity zone. You will regularly encounter reef fish, moray eels (Muraenidae), turtles, and various pelagic fish. The area is also a stronghold for California sea lions, which are particularly active at Los Islotes.

Seasonality dictates many of the larger encounters. From November to April, you can find whale sharks, while humpback whales are present from November to May. Blue whales appear between February and June, and gray whales can be seen from January to April. For those seeking hammerhead sharks, the season runs from March to December.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants add significant interest to the reefs. Keep an eye out for garden eels (Gorgasia), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani). You may also spot frogfish (Antennarius), anemones, and various invertebrates among the reef structures.

The region is highly seasonal, which dictates the types of marine life available. The presence of large pelagics, such as whale sharks and various whale species, is closely tied to specific months in the winter and spring.

Water temperatures in the area typically range between 16°C and 28°C. While the Sea of Cortez is generally known for its richness, the currents and swell can vary significantly between the calm reef flats and the more exposed sites around the Socorro Islands.
