Located in Playa del Carmen, GoDiveMEX serves as a gateway to the diverse underwater landscapes of the Yucatán Peninsula. The centre is positioned to provide access to the vibrant Caribbean reefs, the deep wrecks of Puerto Morelos, and the intricate freshwater cave systems that define this region.

Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or are a technical diver seeking advanced cave or rebreather training, the centre provides the logistical support and expertise required. The focus remains on high-quality instruction and a structured approach to skill development, ensuring a professional experience for every diver.

The instructional team is composed of highly qualified professionals with certifications across multiple major agencies, including GUE, IANTD, and TDI. This multi-agency affiliation allows for a flexible and precise approach to training, particularly for those pursuing technical or cave-specific objectives.

Instruction is delivered in English and Spanish, with additional language support available in German and Hungarian. The team emphasises a technical approach to recreational diving, aiming to maximise safety and environmental conservation throughout your training and exploration.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of diving disciplines. Recreational divers can progress through PADI and SSI courses from Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver to Rescue Diver and Divemaster.

For those moving into technical territory, the centre offers specialised programmes including Trimix Plus, Tech2, and Sidemount Diver. A significant portion of the curriculum is dedicated to cave diving, with courses ranging from Intro to Cave and GUE Cave 1 through to Full Cave, Advanced Cave, and Cave Survey and Exploration. Rebreather training is also available, including L2 JJCCR and MOD1 KISS courses, alongside DPV (diver propulsion vehicle) training for both cave and technical applications.

The centre provides a full range of high-quality rental kit for those not travelling with their own equipment. This includes regulators, wetsuits, fins, and torches for night diving or low-light cave exploration.

For technical divers, the facility is equipped to support advanced gas requirements, with Nitrox and Trimix available. The centre is also set up to support rebreather diving, catering to those running JJCCR or KISS configurations.

The Caribbean reefs are home to a vast array of pelagics and reef fish. You will regularly encounter sea turtles (Cheloniidae), Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), and various species of sharks, including Caribbean reef sharks and Nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum). Manta ray (Mobula alfredi) and various stingrays are also common visitors to the reef flats.

Large reef fish such as Grouper (Epinephelus), snapper (Lutjanus), and various species of jack (Carangidae) patrol the coral structures. You can also find parrotfish (Calotomus), surgeonfish (Acanthuridae), and diverse schools of colourful reef fish moving through the water column.

The reef architecture is built from hard coral (Scleractinia), sponges (Porifera), and various gorgonians and sea fans (Gorgoniidae). These structures provide essential shelter for crustaceans including lobster (Homaridae) and various crabs (Brachyura).

For those interested in macro life, the area offers plenty of interest, including octopus (Octopus vulgaris), various species of moray eel (Muraenidae), and nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani). You may also spot seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), shrimp (Caridea), and various species of anemone (Actiniaria) tucked into the reef.

The local diving environment is characterised by warm Caribbean waters, typically ranging between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius. The reefs and cenotes offer a variety of conditions, from shallow reef flats to deep technical walls and cave systems.

Seasonal shifts can influence the presence of certain species; for example, female bull sharks (Carcharhinus leucas) are known to visit the shallower waters and mangroves between November and March.
