The Dive Machine

Based in Playa del Carmen, The Dive Machine serves the wider Riviera Maya, covering everything from the reef flats of Puerto Morelos to the deep cenote systems of Tulum. The reefs of the Riviera Maya are a vibrant ecosystem, characterised by a rich variety of hard coral (Scleractinia) and soft coral (Alcyonacea). You will find a diverse array of gorgonians and sea fans (Gorgoniidae) providing structure for schools of colorful reef fish, including various species of angelfish (Pomacanthidae), parrotfish (Calotomus), and surgeonfish (Acanthuridae).

Larger pelagics and reef residents frequently pass through these waters. It is common to encounter sea turtles (Cheloniidae), stingrays (Batoidea), and various sharks, such as the reef shark (Carcharhinus) and nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum). You may also spot eagle rays (Aetobatus), manta rays (Mobula alfredi), and large schools of jacks (Carangidae) or barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) moving through the water column.

For those interested in macro life, the environment is exceptionally diverse.
