This is a four-star resort on the coast of East Bali, with gardens, an oceanfront restaurant and a spa on site rather than a long list of reasons to leave the property.

Couples can settle into the ocean-facing side of the resort, while families have larger rooms designed for four. Sengkidu Beach is about 1 mile away by road, and Mendira Beach is also around 1 mile away, with a walking route of roughly 1.1 miles.

Padang Bai Harbour is around 15 minutes away, making the resort a useful base for trips towards Lombok and the Gili Islands. Tirta Gangga Water Palace is about 12 miles away by road, and the nearby landscape includes Bukit Tumpeng, around 1.3 miles away. For everyday eating outside the resort, Warung Makan Sumerta Jati and Warung Mina Candidasa are each about 0.3 miles away; Sjana Coffe is around 1.4 miles away by road.

The room choice is less about collecting categories and more about deciding what matters when you are back from the coast. The outdoor pool sits in front of the ocean and is surrounded by tropical gardens. Pool and beach towels, sun loungers and parasols are available, so you can choose between a swim and the more demanding sport of staying horizontal. The resort also has direct beach access and a sun terrace.

Rama Spa offers traditional Balinese and holistic treatments, including massages, facials and body wraps. Full-body, back, neck, foot and couples’ massages are available, along with body treatments, foot baths and spa packages. There is also a fitness centre with cardio equipment, free weights and exercise machines, plus yoga classes for anyone whose muscles have filed a formal complaint.

When sitting still becomes too ambitious, the resort offers mini golf, billiards and cycling. Cooking classes, local-culture tours, walking tours and bike tours give couples something to do together without turning the whole stay into an expedition. Boat excursions, water sports and snorkelling are also available, while Tirta Gangga Water Palace, Padang Bai, Blue Lagoon, Mount Agung and Besakih Temple feature among the excursions on offer.

Ngurah Rai International Airport is about 38 miles away by road, with a driving time of roughly 53 minutes. An airport shuttle and a general shuttle service are available, and car hire can be arranged. The 24-hour front desk can also handle luggage storage, concierge requests, currency exchange and tour arrangements, which is useful when arrival and departure times refuse to behave.
