Harmony Bay Resort about the centre

Harmony Bay Resort is situated on a private beach on Kadidiri Island, offering a secluded base for exploring the Togean Islands. Established in 2016, the resort provides a direct gateway to the diverse marine ecosystems of the Coral Triangle.

The centre is designed for divers who value a personal approach. Instead of large, impersonal groups, you can expect smaller outings that allow for more focused attention from the dive team on the reefs.

The club and its team

The dive centre is run by an experienced team of SSI instructors and Divemasters who have spent years exploring the local Togean reefs. They provide personalised service, ensuring that your diving requirements are met with local expertise.

Safety is a core priority for the team. All dive staff are trained in emergency procedures, including the use of oxygen and first aid, to ensure a professional environment for every excursion.

Access and transfers
To reach us, you must get to Wakai, the main hub of the Togean Islands. Once in Wakai, one of our boats will pick you up and transfer you to our establishment. From the mainland, Wakai can be reached from Ampana or Gorontalo. Gorontalo: Accessible by plane, car or bus. The overnight ferry 'Tuna Tomini' departs from Gorontalo every Tuesday and Friday at 17:00 (12 hours). On arrival, one of our boats will be waiting for you. Ferry tickets can be purchased at the port a few hours before departure. Ampana: Accessible by plane to Luwuk or Palu, then by public transport or chartered car. Another option is overland from Tana Toraja via Tentena and Poso. From Ampana, the easiest option is the 'Hercules' speed boat, which departs every day at 09:00 (1 hour 30 minutes' journey). Public boats 'Wamburabura' (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 09:00, 3-hour journey) or 'Kapia' (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 09:00, timetable subject to change) are also available. The transfer from Wakai to our resort is guaranteed only for guests who provide us with their arrival details at least 48 hours in advance.
Accommodation
The centre offers Deluxe and Standard bungalows. The Deluxe bungalows are the largest, located in the first row a few metres from the sea, with a private bathroom (shower and Western-style toilet), a king-size bed (180x200) with mosquito net, and a 15 m² terrace with two hammocks, chairs and a table. The Standard bungalows are smaller, located in the second row with a sea view, with a private bathroom (shower and Western-style toilet), a double bed (160x200) or twin beds with mosquito net, and a 5.5 m² terrace with two benches and a hammock. The price includes 3 meals and the transfer to and from Wakai. An additional mattress is possible only in the Deluxe bungalows.

Courses on offer

As an SSI affiliated centre, Harmony Bay offers a complete syllabus of training. Beginners can start with Try Scuba or the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to progress can take the Advanced Adventurer, Deep Diving, or Navigation courses.

The curriculum extends into technical and specialty skills, including Enriched Air Nitrox, Wreck Diving, Dry Suit Diving, and Search and Recovery. For those pursuing a professional path, the Dive Guide course is also available. They also offer specific skill-building programmes such as Perfect Buoyancy, Scuba Skills Update, and React Right.

The boats

The centre operates boats with a maximum capacity of 6 divers, allowing for the small-group approach they promise. This setup is ideal for maintaining a quiet, controlled atmosphere during your dives.

For trips to specific areas such as Atol, Malenge, or the B-24 Liberator Bomber, fuel surcharges apply per boat. The centre also provides boat access for night dives.

Equipment and gases

The centre provides a full range of Mares equipment for hire. To allow you to focus on your diving, the staff takes responsibility for the heavy lifting; they will prepare your kit in the morning and handle the disassembly and washing of all equipment once you return from the water.

Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to extend their bottom times. The centre also places a high importance on breathable air quality, ensuring all cylinders are filled to a high standard.

Diving conditions

The diving in this region is generally characterised by gentle currents, making it accessible for a wide range of certification levels. You can expect a relatively calm environment for most reef excursions.
