Bahura Dive Siquijor

Bahura Dive Siquijor is the first and only PADI 5 Star Dive Resort located on the island of Siquijor. Situated in the peaceful municipality of Lazi, the centre offers a base for divers looking to explore the unique marine landscape of the Philippines.

The area is defined by its variety, ranging from shallow reef flats and seagrass meadows to dramatic vertical walls. Whether you are looking for the macro life hidden in the sand or the pelagics cruising the open water, the centre provides access to a wide range of environments.

The team at Bahura Dive Siquijor focuses on professional service and diver safety, with staff trained in first aid and emergency oxygen provision. They maintain a strong commitment to marine conservation, implementing a zero single-use plastic policy and organising regular beach and underwater clean-ups.

Beyond standard leisure diving, the centre is equipped to support marine education. With a marine biologist on site, divers can deepen their understanding of the local ecosystem through specialised PADI AWARE courses and naturalism studies.

As a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, the centre offers a comprehensive curriculum from beginner to professional levels. You can start with Discover Scuba Diving or work through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses.

For those progressing towards a career in diving, the centre provides Divemaster training and various professional packages. They also offer a wide array of PADI specialty courses, including PADI Deep Diver, PADI Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and various PADI AWARE specialties such as Coral Reef Conservation and Shark Conservation.

The centre operates two different vessels to suit different dive profiles. The Maui Blue is a banca boat with a capacity for 26 passengers, ideal for larger groups or excursions. For smaller trips, the Bahura Dive speedboat offers a more agile option for getting to sites quickly.

On board, you will find refreshments including water, tea, coffee, and local fruits, as well as snacks and full day meals. The boats are equipped to handle various dive types, including night dives.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit, including wetsuits, BCDs, regulators, fins, masks, snorkels, and dive computers. All equipment is kept in good condition to ensure reliability throughout your stay.

For those looking to extend their training or enhance their diving, Nitrox is available on site. The facility also includes dedicated areas for underwater photography, making it a suitable base for those documenting the local marine life.

The marine life here is exceptionally diverse, spanning from large pelagics to tiny macro organisms. On the walls and reefs, you will encounter various species of turtles, including Green sea turtle and Hawksbill turtle, alongside large schools of Jack (Carangidae), barracuda, and various reef fish. You may also spot whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus) and spotted eagle ray (Aetobatus) in the water column.

For macro enthusiasts, the sandy bottoms and muck diving sites are a treasure trove. You can find many interesting species such as pygmy seahorse (Hippocampus bargibanti), frogfish (Antennarius), various nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), and many types of octopus. Look closely for coconut octopus, mimic octopus, and flamboyant cuttlefish among the rubble.

Fixed life provides a vibrant backdrop to every dive, with abundant Sea fan (Gorgoniidae), various sponges, and corals. You will also see electric clams, sea anemones, and various species of shrimp and crabs, including the orangutan crab, decorating the reef structures.

Diving in Siquijor offers a variety of environments, from calm reef flats to more active sites. Some wall dives can experience strong currents, which can turn them into exciting drift dives.

Seasonal patterns play a role in what you might see, particularly at the Tulapos Marine Sanctuary, where giant barracuda are most commonly observed between March and September.
