Marco Polo Dive Center

Marco Polo Dive & Wingfoil Center is situated in Maite, San Juan, on the island of Siquijor in the Philippines. The centre serves as a hub for divers and water sports enthusiasts looking to explore the local marine environment.

Specialising in the exceptional coral reefs that surround Siquijor, the centre focuses on reef exploration through scuba diving, snorkeling, and free diving. It is a multi-activity centre, also providing certified instruction for wingfoil, stand-up paddle, and other nautical pursuits.

The centre is an affiliated training centre for both SSI and SDI, ensuring a broad range of certification options for visiting divers. Instructors are experienced and the centre maintains a focus on safety, providing emergency oxygen kits on site.

Communication is straightforward for international visitors, as the team speaks English, French, and Spanish. This multilingual approach helps facilitate clear instruction during courses and briefings.

A comprehensive curriculum is available through SSI and SDI, catering to everyone from those taking their first breaths underwater to professional divers. Beginners can start with the Try Scuba programme, leading into the Open Water Diver course.

For more experienced divers, the centre offers Advanced Open Water, Deep Diving, and Enriched Nitrox courses. Specialized training is also available, including Stress & Rescue, Perfect Buoyancy, Computer Diving, and Navigation.

The professional pathway is supported through DiveMaster training and the Science of Diving course. For those interested in night diving, specific Night Dive training is also offered.

The centre provides a full range of equipment for hire, including masks, fins, snorkels, and wetsuits. For those looking for a complete setup, full kit hire is available to ensure you have everything needed for your dives.

On-site, the centre is equipped with emergency oxygen for safety. They also operate a dive shop for those looking to browse or purchase equipment.

The reefs of Siquijor are defined by their healthy coral ecosystems, featuring a variety of vibrant hard and soft corals that provide the foundation for the local marine life. These structures host a diverse community of reef inhabitants.

You can expect to encounter sea turtles and silver barracuda patrolling the reef. Anemones and various species of clownfish are also common sights among the coral formations.

Macro life and smaller residents are frequently spotted throughout the area, including Nemo (clownfish) and other reef-dwelling species that thrive in the sheltered environments of the reef flat.
