Located just 150 metres from the pier in Koh Tao, Koh Tao Scuba Club has been a fixture of the local diving community since 2014. This family-run business has built a reputation for reliability, having trained over 10,000 divers from more than 30 different nationalities over the last ten years.

As an SSI Diamond level centre, the school provides a structured environment for both recreational exploration and professional progression. Whether you are looking to take your first breath underwater or are working towards your Instructor Training Course, the centre is geared towards providing consistent, high-quality training in the Gulf of Thailand.

The team is composed of highly experienced, multilingual instructors capable of guiding you through a wide range of certifications. They communicate effectively in English, Thai, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, Swedish, and Russian, ensuring that technical details are never lost in translation.

The centre manages a full range of training, from the initial Basic Diver and Open Water Diver courses through to advanced professional levels like Divemaster and the SSI Instructor Training Course. Their local knowledge of the surrounding reefs and pinnacles is a core part of the experience provided to every diver.

The course catalogue is comprehensive, covering the entire SSI spectrum. Beginners can start with the Basic Diver or Open Water Diver courses, while those looking to deepen their skills can opt for Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diving Specialty, or Wreck Diver Specialty.

For professional divers, the centre offers Divemaster training and the SSI Instructor Training Course. They also provide Enriched Air NITROX Level 2 (40%) training and refresher courses for those returning to the water after a break.

The centre operates its own traditional Koh Tao divers boat, which has a capacity for 40 people, including the crew, captain, and professionals. This vessel is used for daily trips, including morning, afternoon, and night dive schedules.

On full-day trips, such as the Sail Rock excursion, the boat provides lunch, refreshments including water, coffee, and tea, as well as snacks and fresh fruit. Nitrox is available for use on board, allowing for extended bottom times on more demanding dives.

The centre provides full equipment hire using brand-name kit from Scuba Pro and Mares. This ensures that whether you are renting a complete rig or just specific items, you are using reliable, modern hardware.

For those looking to extend their time on the water, the centre also offers free use of paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkeling equipment with certain course packages.

The waters around Koh Tao are home to diverse marine life, with pinnacles like Sail Rock and Chumphon Pinnacle drawing large schools of fish, batfish, and great barracuda. You may also encounter giant groupers, moray eels, and anemones living amongst the reef structures.

Whale sharks are a significant seasonal draw for the area, often sighted around the major pinnacles. The presence of these pelagics makes the local sites some of the most exciting in the region.

On the reef flats and sandy areas, you will find various tiny creatures and sea anemones. The biodiversity is supported by a healthy ecosystem of reef life that remains active throughout the year.

Diving in the area is possible all year long, with the centre operating morning, afternoon, and night dive schedules. The local knowledge of the instructors helps in navigating the various sites, which include everything from shallow reef flats to deeper pinnacles and wrecks.
