The Dive Inn

Located in the Chaloklum Village of Koh Phangan, The Dive Inn has been a fixture of the local diving community since 2002. The centre serves as a base for exploring the diverse marine environments of the Surat Thani region, with a particular focus on the celebrated sites surrounding the island.

For over two decades, the team has focused on providing structured exploration of the Gulf of Thailand. Their presence in Koh Phangan allows for regular access to significant underwater landmarks, making it a reliable choice for those looking to build their logbooks in these waters.

The centre is an official SSI dive centre, meaning all training and certification follow international standards. The team is composed of certified instructors who manage everything from introductory dives to professional-level training.

Communication is straightforward for international visitors, as the team is multilingual. They offer guidance in English, French, German, Spanish, Thai, and Finnish, ensuring that safety briefings and instructional details are clearly understood by divers from various backgrounds.

The Dive Inn offers the complete spectrum of SSI training. For those starting their journey, they provide Try Scuba and Snorkeling programmes, leading into the Open Water Diver course.

Experienced divers can progress through Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster certifications. The centre also hosts a variety of SSI Specialty Courses and dedicated Perfect Buoyancy Workshops to refine technical skills, alongside Scuba Skills Update sessions for those needing a refresher.

The centre provides a full range of equipment for hire, covering everything required for a complete dive rig. This includes regulators, BCDs, exposure suits, fins, and masks.

Onboard during excursions, divers are provided with light breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks. The centre also provides insurance as part of their service package.

The marine life at Sail Rock and the surrounding area is diverse, with large pelagics often passing through the deeper sections of the pinnacle. You can encounter great barracuda, mackerel, grouper, snapper, and various species of wrasse and damselfish. Wrecks and reef structures in the area also host moray eels, batfish, and angelfish.

During certain times of the year, depending on seasonal conditions, you may have the opportunity to see whale sharks. Other larger residents include ocean sunfish and various marine reptiles.

For those interested in macro life, the reefs are home to a wide array of smaller organisms. Look for nudibranchs, sea slugs, shrimp, and crabs tucked into the crevices of the coral. Scorpionfish and various species of anemonefish add colour to the reef flat and surrounding structures.
