Yu Dive Khao Lak

Yu Dive Khao Lak is situated in Taknapa, providing a base for exploring the diverse marine environments of the Andaman Sea. The centre focuses on a personalised approach, ensuring that whether you are a novice or an experienced diver, the experience is tailored to your specific needs.

From the reef flats to the more remote islands, the centre organises a variety of excursions. These range from local day trips to extended liveaboard adventures on vessels such as the MV Koon 9, The Junk, or a Phinisi, allowing you to reach the most significant sites in the region.

The centre is led by Aleksandar (Aleks), an instructor who brings a high level of experience and a patient, pedagogical approach to his teaching. This focus on guidance is designed to build confidence in students and ensure safety for all divers.

Operating with a maximum ratio of three divers per guide, the centre maintains a small-group atmosphere. This ensures you receive individual attention during your dives and throughout your training. The team communicates in English and Serbian.

As a PADI affiliated centre, Yu Dive Khao Lak offers a complete progression of training. Beginners can start with the Discover Scuba Diver programme or work towards their PADI Open Water Diver certification.

For divers looking to expand their skills, the centre provides the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. The teaching style is centred on safety and clear instruction, making it suitable for those transitioning from quarry training to open water environments.

The centre organises liveaboard excursions to reach more distant dive sites. These trips include stays on various vessels, such as the MV Koon 9, The Junk, or a Phinisi, providing a way to experience the Similan and Surin Islands over several days.

In addition to liveaboards, the centre organises land-based tours, including overnight stays in natural environments like Khao Sok, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the region.

For those who prefer not to carry their own kit, the centre provides a full range of rental equipment. The inventory features recent Scubapro gear, ensuring reliable performance for your dives.

Logistics are managed locally, with the centre also able to organise transfers from the airport to simplify your arrival in Taknapa.

The reefs are characterised by a vibrant array of colourful fish and healthy coral structures. You will find a variety of species inhabiting the reef flats and walls throughout the area.

Sea turtles are a regular presence in the waters around the Similan Islands. These large marine animals are a key highlight for divers visiting the archipelago.

Beyond the larger animals, the ecosystem is supported by a diverse range of marine life that makes the Andaman Sea a premier destination for underwater observation.

Visibility in the area typically ranges between 15 and 30 metres. The water temperature remains warm, generally staying between 27°C and 30°C.
