Sheikh Coast Diving Center

Located at Marsa El Dekhela within the Domina Coral Bay area of Sharm El Sheikh, Sheikh Coast Diving Center offers direct access to the Red Sea's most significant marine habitats. The centre is positioned on a private jetty, providing a streamlined transition from shore to boat.

By utilising a fleet of high-speed boats, the centre ensures that more time is spent exploring the water column and reef structures rather than travelling to the sites. This setup is ideal for divers looking to maximise their bottom time at locations like Tiran Island or the Ras Mohammed National Park.

The centre is a PADI-affiliated facility run by a team of certified and experienced instructors. They manage a wide range of divers, from those taking their first breaths underwater to professionals working through the IDC.

Instruction is provided in English, Italian, and Russian. The team focuses on building competence and confidence, ensuring that every diver, whether a beginner or a seasoned veteran, is prepared for the specific conditions of the Sinai Peninsula.

The training programme covers the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course, moving through to Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and eventually the Divemaster level.

Specialty courses are available to refine specific skills, including Nitrox, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Buoyancy. For those pursuing a professional career, the centre offers the Instructor Development Course (IDC). Technical training is also a focus, with rebreather courses expected to be available soon.

The centre operates a fleet of high-speed boats designed to reach offshore reefs quickly. These vessels allow for efficient transit to the Tiran Island reefs and the Ras Mohammed National Park.

On board, you will find radio communications, first aid kits, and oxygen for safety. The boats also provide catering services, including snacks and refreshments, to keep you fuelled between dives. Nitrox is available for use on these trips.

For technical divers, the centre features a dedicated technical zone equipped with Halcyon BCDs, twin-set configurations, and S/40 and S/80 stage cylinders. A full photo laboratory is also available on-site for underwater photographers to process their work.

Complete equipment hire is available for those not travelling with their own kit. The centre's shore-based facilities include a private jetty for easy boat access and all the necessary amenities for a day of diving.

The reefs are teeming with colourful reef fish, including various species of Anthias, Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and Parrotfish (Calotomus). You will frequently encounter schools of fusiliers, snappers (Lutjanus), and various jacks (Carangidae).

Larger animals are a regular highlight, with sightings of turtles, reef sharks (Carcharhinus), and whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus). Divers may also see eagle rays (Aetobatus), stingrays (Batoidea), and occasionally larger pelagics like tuna (Thunnus) or barracudas.

Macro life is abundant for those looking closer. The environment supports diverse populations of octopuses (Octopus vulgaris), scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), and various species of moray eels (Muraenidae), including giant moray eels. You can also find nudibranchs, sea anemones (Actiniaria), and various species of shrimp and crabs.

The hard coral (Scleractinia) and soft coral (Alcyonacea) structures provide the essential framework for this ecosystem, with gorgonian fans and various sponge (Porifera) species adding texture and colour to the walls and reef flats.

The dive sites around Sharm El Sheikh vary from shallow reef flats to significant wall dives. While many sites are accessible to a wide range of experience levels, some areas like the Tiran reefs can be subject to currents that require more advanced buoyancy and trim skills.
