Dive Dojo

Established in 2006 by Captain Paul Russell, Dive Dojo has become a cornerstone of the Sabang community in Puerto Galera. The centre is situated directly on the Sabang Boardwalk, providing you with immediate access to the ocean for every trip.

This centre is designed for divers who value technical precision and safety. Whether you are starting your journey with a Discover Scuba Diving course or you are a seasoned technical diver looking for Poseidon CCR training, the focus remains on high-level proficiency rather than ego.

The instructional team consists of experienced SDI/TDI and PSAI instructors. They handle a full spectrum of training, from entry-level divers to professional certifications such as Divemaster and Instructor.

Instruction is conducted in English, and the centre is well-equipped to support technical divers with advanced courses including Advanced Trimix. The team's long-standing presence in Puerto Galera ensures a professional approach to both recreational and technical diving.

The curriculum covers the entire SDI progression, starting from Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water through to Advanced and Rescue certifications. For those pursuing a professional career, the centre offers Divemaster and Instructor training.

Technical diving is a core specialty here, with courses available in Advanced Trimix and specific Poseidon CCR training for closed-circuit rebreather enthusiasts.

The centre utilises speedboats for excursions, ensuring efficient travel to the local dive sites. These vessels are fully equipped to provide a reliable platform for your dives.

The facility is known for maintaining a stock of nearly new equipment, providing reliable kit for your dives. For those looking for a more comfortable experience after a session in the water, the centre provides warm towels to use after every dive.

The marine life in Puerto Galera is exceptionally diverse, featuring a variety of large pelagic species and reef inhabitants. You may encounter Thresher sharks, Reef sharks (Carcharhinus), and various rays such as the Spotted eagle ray (Aetobatus narinari) or the Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus).

Hard corals and soft corals dominate the reef structure, including Brain coral (Diploria), Staghorn corals, and various Gorgonians (Gorgonacea). You will see a wide array of sponges, sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and various types of anemones and sea cucumbers.

For macro enthusiasts, the area offers incredible opportunities to find small, intricate creatures. You can look for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus), Pygmy seahorses (Hippocampus bargibanti), and various species of Mandarinfish (Synchiropus), Pipefish (Syngnathidae), and Seahorse (Hippocampus).

The area is a marine protected zone, which helps maintain the health of the reef and its inhabitants. Divers should be prepared for the typical conditions found in a tropical reef environment.
