Atlantis Puerto Galera is situated on the hills of Sabang Beach, positioned within a UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve. This location provides immediate access to some of the most biodiverse coral reefs in Asia, sitting at the very heart of the Coral Triangle.

The centre has been operating for 25 years, establishing a reputation for professional service in a region known for its high density of marine life. Whether you are looking for a relaxed reef holiday or more technical diving, the infrastructure is designed to support a wide range of experience levels.

The team at Atlantis is described as professional and highly helpful, catering to a diverse international clientele. The centre is well-equipped to handle both recreational divers and those pursuing more specialised interests, such as underwater photography or marine naturalism.

For those travelling with family, the centre runs specific programmes including 'Try Scuba' for non-diving children. They also offer structured training for younger divers, ensuring that the next generation of enthusiasts is well-looked after while the adults are in the water.

For divers looking to extend their capabilities, the centre provides Nitrox and Trimix training. They also offer specialised courses in Underwater Photography and Naturalist training for those wanting to deepen their understanding of the local ecosystem.

The centre operates up to five guided boat dives per day, with most dive sites located within a 10-minute boat ride from the resort. This proximity allows for efficient dive schedules and plenty of time to relax on shore.

Onboard, you will find water and snacks provided to keep you fuelled between dives. The boats are equipped to support various diving styles, including night dives, and have the capacity to carry Nitrox and Trimix for technical divers.

The shore-based facilities are designed with serious divers in mind. There is a dedicated 17 m² air-conditioned room for underwater photographers, featuring 30 individual lockers, charging stations, and air blowers to dry kit.

For training and relaxation, the resort includes a 100 m² freshwater pool with both shallow and deep zones. A full range of equipment is available for hire, including complete sets for those not travelling with their own kit. The centre also provides air-conditioned classrooms for theoretical instruction.

The reefs around Puerto Galera are a riot of colour and activity. You will find extensive hard corals (Scleractinia), including brain corals, staghorn corals, table corals, and mushroom coral, alongside soft corals (Alcyonacea) and large gorgonian fans. Sea fans (Gorgoniidae) and whip corals are also common features of the seascape.

Large pelagics and schooling fish are a regular sight. Look out for various species of snapper (Lutjanus), jacks (Carangidae), and trevallies, as well as schools of fusiliers (Caesio) and emperor fish. You may also encounter tuna (Thunnus), barracudas, and various species of sharks, including whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus) and grey reef sharks.

For those interested in macro life, the area is exceptional. You can find a variety of nudibranchs, including Chromodoris willani, as well as pygmy seahorses (Hippocampus bargibanti) and ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus). Keep a close eye on the reef for octopus (Octopus vulgaris), mimic octopuses, and various species of shrimp (Caridea), including harlequin shrimps and cleaner shrimp (Lysmata).

Other interesting residents include blue-spotted stingrays, moray eels (Muraenidae), lionfish (Pterois volitans), and stonefish (Synanceia). Turtles, such as the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) and hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), are frequently seen navigating the reef flats and walls.
