DPM Diving Koh Tao has been a fixture of the local diving community since 2014. Situated just a short walk from Mae Haad Beach, the centre provides a practical and well-connected base for divers looking to explore the Gulf of Thailand.

Operating with multiple affiliations including SSI, PADI, and RAID, the centre caters to a wide spectrum of divers. Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or are working towards professional instructor levels, the focus remains on high-quality, small-group instruction.

The team is composed of certified instructors who prioritise a modern and responsible approach to diving. With over 10,000 divers trained since its inception, the centre has developed a structured and reliable teaching environment.

Instruction is kept intimate to ensure safety and personal attention, with a maximum ratio of four students per instructor. This small group size is maintained across their various programmes, from entry-level courses to advanced training.

Beyond the water, the centre operates an on-site hostel and bar, providing a social hub for divers. The facility is conveniently located steps from Sairee, Jansom Bay, and the Sairee ATM, making it easy to navigate the island.

The course catalogue is comprehensive, covering every stage of the diver's progression. Beginners can start with Try Scuba Diving or the SSI Scuba Diver course, leading into the Open Water Diver qualification.

For those looking to advance their skills, the centre offers the Open Water 30 Programme, Advanced Adventurer, and Deep Adventure Dive. Safety and rescue training are also central to the curriculum, with React Right and Rescue Diver courses available.

Professional divers can pursue the SSI Divemaster programme, while those needing to brush up on their skills can opt for the Scuba Refresh programme.

For those staying on-site, the 3-star accommodation is located only 100 metres from the beach and features air-conditioned rooms, private bathrooms, and a shared lounge and terrace.

The waters around Koh Tao are home to a variety of large pelagics. You may encounter reef sharks, turtles, and great barracuda during your dives. Depending on the time of year, you might also see whale sharks between March and May, or August and September, as well as manta rays from February to April.

On the reefs and pinnacles, the marine life is abundant. Schools of barracuda, fusiliers, and carangue are common, alongside resident triggerfish and various species of grouper. You can also find rays and diverse populations of tropical fish darting through the coral.

For those interested in macro life and smaller inhabitants, the sites offer plenty of interest. Look for garden eels in the sand, as well as crabs, shrimp, and various species of anemones. Cuttlefish and rays can also be found in the quieter bays.

Diving conditions vary depending on the site and the specific location. While shallow bays like Japanese Garden offer calm waters, sites like Shark Island can experience strong currents, particularly on the eastern side.

Occasional currents are also found at Chumphon Pinnacle, making it a more challenging dive for intermediate and advanced divers. The best period for diving in this area is generally from March to October.
