Goodtime Adventures has been a fixture of the Koh Tao diving community since 2008. Located on the Mae Haad waterfront, the centre serves as a hub for those looking to explore the islands through scuba diving, snorkeling, or rock climbing.

The centre operates with a focus on responsible diving practices and marine conservation, holding membership with Blue Oceans and Green Fins. This commitment to the local ecosystem ensures that your exploration of the Gulf's reefs and wrecks is conducted with an awareness of environmental impact.

The team at Goodtime Adventures is international, bringing a diverse range of experience to the Mae Haad base. They cater to a wide spectrum of divers, from those taking their first breaths underwater to professional-level students working towards instructor ratings.

As the only centre on Koh Tao offering BSAC affiliations, they provide a unique training option alongside their PADI and SSI programmes. The staff's expertise extends beyond the water, with the centre also functioning as a dedicated climbing school for those looking to explore the island's cliffs.

A comprehensive range of training is available through PADI, SSI, and BSAC. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course or the Basic Diver programme, while those looking to refine their skills can opt for a Scuba Review or specific modules like Buoyancy and Navigation.

For more advanced divers, the curriculum includes the Advanced Open Water, Deep Diving, and Nitrox Diver courses. The centre also supports professional development, offering Divemaster and Instructor training, as well as specialised courses such as Recreational Sidemount.

The centre is equipped to support both training and exploration, offering Nitrox for divers looking to extend their bottom time. For those travelling light, a range of equipment is available for hire to ensure you have the right kit for the local conditions.

On the shore, the Mae Haad location provides a convenient base for preparing for dives. The centre also features an on-site Beach Club with a restaurant and bar, allowing you to relax by the water after your sessions.

The waters around Koh Tao are home to a diverse array of reef life. You will regularly encounter green turtles, hawksbill turtles, and blue-spotted ribbontail rays moving across the sandy patches and reef flats. Large schools of barracuda, trevally, fusiliers, and snappers frequent the pinnacles, while lionfish and moray eels are common residents of the rocky crevices.

The hard and soft coral cover provides a vibrant backdrop for the local fauna. You can observe healthy staghorn corals, gorgonians, and various anemones, alongside species such as parrotfish, angelfish, and wrasse that navigate the reef structure.

For macro enthusiasts, the area offers significant rewards. Sites like Junkyard Reef and Buoyancy World are ideal for finding nudibranchs, frogfish, and various species of moray eels. If you move slowly and watch the substrate, you may also spot various flatfish and small rays.

Large pelagics are a highlight of the region, particularly during the right season. Whale sharks are known to visit the area, with sightings most consistent between March and August.

The diving environment is generally characterised by moderate currents, though these can intensify at specific sites like Shark Island or Twins. Some areas, such as Tanote Bay and Hin Wong Bay, may be subject to swell and wave action depending on the time of year.

It is worth noting that the northeast monsoon season, typically spanning October and November, can bring rougher surface conditions and reduced visibility to the region.
