Turtle Divers Koh Tao has been a fixture of the local diving community for over two decades. Situated at a prime spot at the entrance of Sairee Beach, the centre offers easy access to the island's most significant dive sites, including deep pinnacles and historic wrecks.

The centre operates with a focus on marine conservation and inclusive teaching, providing adaptive techniques for divers with different physical and mental abilities. The team is led by managers Verena and Wayne, alongside Course Director Julian and instructor Luuk. This experienced professional group manages a PADI 5 Star operation that handles everything from junior programmes to professional internships.

Training is conducted with a maximum ratio of four divers per guide, ensuring close supervision and safety. The centre is multilingual, with instruction available in both English and German, making it a reliable choice for international divers.

Turtle Divers offers the complete spectrum of PADI courses. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving, Bubblemaker, or the Junior Open Water and Junior Advanced Open Water programmes, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For those looking to refine their skills, a wide range of PADI Specialty courses are available, including Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Underwater Navigation, and Peak Performance Buoyancy. The centre also runs Refresher and Refresher Extreme courses to get you back into trim.

Professional training is a core part of the centre's identity, offering Divemaster internships and the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). Emergency First Responder training is also provided to ensure all divers have the necessary safety foundations.

The centre utilises spacious customised dive boats for its morning and afternoon excursions. These vessels are designed to accommodate divers comfortably while navigating the various reefs and pinnacles surrounding Koh Tao.

The waters around Koh Tao are home to a diverse array of large marine life. You can encounter various species of sharks, including Blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus), as well as several types of rays such as blue-spotted stingrays and blue-spotted ribbontail rays. Large pelagics like bigeye trevallies, various barracuda species, and snapper schools are frequently seen patrolling the pinnacles.

The reef architecture is defined by a rich tapestry of hard and soft corals. You will find extensive gardens of soft corals (Alcyonacea), giant sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and various sponges (Porifera), alongside staghorn corals and bubble coral, providing a complex habitat for reef fish.

For those interested in macro life, the sites offer plenty of smaller treasures. Keep an eye out for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), various species of shrimp (Caridea), ghost shrimps, and several types of anemone shrimp. Other interesting finds include pipefish, gobies (Gobiidae), and various sea slugs.

Diving in the area involves a variety of environments, from sheltered bays like Tanote Bay to more open pinnacle sites. Divers should be prepared for varying levels of current depending on the specific site and tide.

The depth profiles across the main sites vary significantly, from shallow reef flats at 2 metres to deeper wreck and pinnacle dives reaching 35 metres.
