Massilia Plongee

Located in the Marseille 07 district at La Pointe Rouge, Massilia Plongée sits less than 200 metres from the shoreline. This expansive 1,000 m² facility is strategically positioned to provide easy access to the marine environments of the Calanques.

The centre is structured into specialised zones to cater to different levels of experience. Zen Plongée focuses on introductory dives and families, while Atoll Plongée handles standard exploration and training. For those pushing depth limits, Massilia Plongée operates as a dedicated technical hub, providing the infrastructure required for deep exploration.

The centre operates with multiple affiliations, providing courses through PADI, FFESSM, ANMP, and IANTD. This allows you to choose the specific certification path that suits your goals, whether you are following the French national system or international standards.

Instruction is available in both French and English. The centre's diverse training syllabus ranges from Bubblemaker and Seal Team programmes for children to professional instructor training (E1/E4) and Divemaster certifications.

The training curriculum is extensive, covering every stage from PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver through to advanced levels like Divemaster and Instructor training. For those looking to master specific skills, the centre offers specialties such as Wreck Diving, Navigation, and Buoyancy Control.

Technical training is a core strength of the facility. You can undertake courses in Tec Rec (40m, 45m, and 50m), Discover Tec, and advanced rebreather training, including Closed Circuit (CCR) initiation, rEvo 0–40m, and Hypoxic Trimix CCR training.

The fleet consists of five high-powered semi-rigid boats, capable of carrying nearly 100 divers in total. This capacity ensures the centre can manage large groups while maintaining efficient dive schedules.

The vessels include the Black-Pearl, which is powered by twin 200hp engines, as well as the Guerrier and Coyotte, both equipped with 250hp motors. The Corail is motorised with 225hp. These boats are well-equipped for various mission types, including night dives.

On shore, the centre is supported by two Bauer 14m3 compressors and a large stock of Aqualung cylinders ranging from 6L to 15L. This ensures a reliable supply of gas for all divers.

Full equipment hire is available on-site, including underwater scooters for those looking to extend their range. For technical divers, the centre provides a dedicated space on the Moréa boat to manage complex kit and gas requirements.

The marine life around Marseille is characterised by diverse fish populations, including various colourful fish species.

Fixed life forms and reefs provide a complex backdrop for your dives, creating a rich environment for observing the local ecosystem.

The centre is situated in an area with high accessibility, with a private quay at the Port de la Pointe Rouge reachable via a short shuttle ride from the main centre.
