Bohol Divers Club

Located on Alona Beach Road in Danao, Bohol Divers Club serves as a central hub for diving on Panglao Island. The centre is positioned within easy reach of over a dozen dive sites located less than a kilometre from the front door, making it an ideal base for both short excursions and longer boat trips.

The area is defined by its diverse underwater topography, ranging from shallow reef flats to dramatic walls. Beyond the immediate coastline, the centre organises trips to the region's most iconic marine environments, including the highly regarded reefs of Balicasag and Pamilacan Islands.

As a PADI 5-Star Dive Centre, Bohol Divers Club operates with a professional framework that covers the entire spectrum of diver training. Their team is equipped to handle everything from initial Discovery Dives to professional-level instruction.

The centre focuses on safety and environmental protection throughout its operations. They provide a structured learning environment for those pursuing PADI certifications, including the Divemaster programme and the Instructor Development Course (IDC).

The centre offers a complete range of PADI courses for all experience levels. Beginners can start with a Discovery Dive or progress through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For those looking to refine their skills or advance their careers, Bohol Divers Club provides Rescue Diver training, various PADI Specialty courses, and professional pathways including Divemaster and the Instructor Development Course (IDC).

The centre utilises spacious dual-level bangka boats for their island diving day trips. These traditional vessels are designed to accommodate divers comfortably during excursions to Balicasag and Pamilacan Islands.

To ensure a pleasant experience during longer trips, refreshments and lunch are provided on board. The dual-level design offers ample space for divers to organise their kit and relax between descents.

The reefs are home to a vast array of colourful fish, including Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), Angelfish, Damselfish, and various species of Wrasse (Labridae). You will regularly encounter schooling fish such as Jack (Carangidae), Big mouth mackerel, and large schools of Sardine (Sardina pilchardus) and Fusilier (Caesio).

Larger pelagics and reef residents include Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), various Groupers (Epinephelus), and occasional turtles, such as the Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) and Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata). You may also spot Moray eel (Muraenidae), Scorpionfish, and various species of Surgeonfish (Acanthuridae) amongst the reef structure.

The hard and soft corals, along with Sea fan (Gorgoniidae), provide a complex habitat for macro life. Divers should look closely for colourful nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), Frogfish (Antennarius), and various species of pipefish and Ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae).

Small, specialised creatures also inhabit the reef, including ribbon eels, sea snakes (Hydrophiinae), and various shrimp. For those with a keen eye, the sites offer opportunities to find scorpionfish and other cryptic species tucked into the reef crevices.
