Haka Dive Center

Haka Dive Center is a PADI 5 Star operation situated on the island of Panglao, Bohol. The centre serves as a gateway to some of the most diverse marine environments in the Philippines, ranging from steep drop-offs to sheltered coral gardens.

Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or are working towards your professional credentials, the centre provides a structured environment for learning. Its location on Daorong Boulevard allows for easy access to the coast and local dive excursions.

The team is composed of certified PADI instructors and guides who are trained to provide personalised attention to every diver. The centre focuses on a professional approach to safety and instruction, ensuring that both novice and experienced divers feel supported.

Instruction is available in multiple languages, making the centre accessible to an international community of divers. The staff is dedicated to high service standards, focusing on the specific needs of each diver, whether they are on a single exploration dive or a multi-day training programme.

Haka Dive Center offers a comprehensive curriculum through PADI, covering everything from the initial Discover Scuba Diving and Bubblemaker programmes to the full Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For divers looking to refine their skills, specialties such as PADI Deep Diver, Underwater Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and Night Diver are available. The centre maintains a full range of rental kit for those who do not wish to travel with their own equipment. This includes regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, and fins. For night dives or underwater photography, torches and GoPro cameras are available for hire.

Nitrox is available on-site, providing more flexibility for your dive planning. For those on a professional path, specialised Divemaster equipment rental is also offered for longer durations.

The walls and reefs of Panglao are home to a vast array of large marine life. You can expect to see turtles, including Green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) and Hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata), alongside Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), various species of jacks (Carangidae), and Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda). Large pelagics such as Tuna (Thunnus) and even occasional whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) are part of the local ecosystem.

For those interested in macro life, the area is a haven. You will find colourful nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), Frogfish (Antennarius), and Ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae) tucked away in the reef. Shrimp (Caridea), various species of anemone fish, and diverse nudibranchs make every inspection of the reef floor rewarding.

The hard and soft corals provide the structural foundation for this biodiversity, with many species of sea fans (Gorgoniidae) and large table corals visible along the drop-offs. The reef is also populated by a constant stream of Anthias (Anthias), Fusilier (Caesio), and various species of clownfish.

Diving conditions are generally calm, though divers should be prepared for stronger currents during spring tides, particularly at Napaling Point. The site topography varies from shallow reef flats to steep walls and drop-offs.
