Lalaguna Villas sits on the beachfront of Small Lalaguna Beach in a sheltered cove of Sabang, Puerto Galera. As a PADI 5-Star IDC Resort, it serves as a base for exploring some of the most biodiverse waters on the planet, particularly the nearby Verde Island area.

The resort combines luxury beachfront accommodation with a highly professional diving operation. Whether you are staying in a spacious villa or a penthouse with ocean views, the dive centre is an integrated part of the experience, allowing for a seamless transition from the resort to the water.

The dive centre, LLV Divers, operates with a focus on small groups and personalized service. For fun dives, they maintain a 4:1 diver-to-guide ratio, while PADI courses are conducted with a 2:1 student-to-instructor ratio to ensure safety and thorough instruction.

As an ANAHAW Certified Sustainable resort, the team is committed to environmental responsibility. They offer a 'valet diving service' where staff assist with equipment assembly, transport to the boat, and the careful dismantling and care of your kit after the dives are completed.

The centre is a full-service PADI training facility, offering everything from Discover Scuba Diving for beginners to professional-level courses. Their curriculum includes Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster, as well as the IDC for those pursuing instructor qualifications.

Specialty courses are widely available, including Nitrox, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Night Diver, and DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) training. They cater to all levels of experience, from those just starting in a quarry to those looking to expand their technical repertoire.

The centre operates a high-powered fleet of three speedboats, designed to reach dive sites quickly. These vessels allow you to access over 35 different sites, with the premier Verde Island locations reachable within 20 minutes.

Each boat carries 4 to 8 divers. On full-day trips to Verde Island, the crew provides water, snacks, coffee, homemade biscuits, and a full lunch to keep you fuelled between dives.

LLV Divers is the only authorised Scubapro dealer and service centre in Sabang, meaning you have access to a dedicated retail store and on-site technical support. They offer full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit.

Nitrox is available for every diver on every dive, ensuring you can maximise your bottom time. The centre also provides hot towels after your dives to help you relax back on board.

The marine life here is exceptionally dense. On the walls and reefs, you will find massive schools of Anthias (Anthias), various species of snapper (Lutjanus), and large groups of jacks (Carangidae). Look for reef fish such as butterflyfish (Chaetodon), parrotfish (Calotomus), and damselfish (Chromis chromis) darting amongst the hard corals (Scleractinia) and soft corals (Alcyonacea).

Macro enthusiasts will find a paradise in sites like Montani. The area is home to a wide array of small critters, including various nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), pygmy seahorses (Hippocampus bargibanti), and the highly visual flamboyant cuttlefish (Sepiidae). You can also spot octopus (Octopus vulgaris), mimic octropuses, frogfish (Antennarius), and various species of shrimp (Caridea), including the red banded coral shrimp.

For those watching the blue, larger pelagics are a regular occurrence. You may encounter thresher sharks, especially from December to April and again between April and June, as well as whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) and manta rays (Mobula alfredi). Other large residents include various species of groupers (Epinephelus), eagle rays (Aetobatus), and sea turtles (Cheloniidae), including green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) and hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata).

Diving in Puerto Galera requires awareness of local currents and tides. While some sites like Coral Gardens are calm, others such as Verde Island and The Canyons are known for strong currents. West Escarceo and Ernie's Point are significantly affected by the tides, so it is best to dive these with an experienced guide.

Monkey Beach offers significant but predictable currents; you can time your dive for slack tide to enjoy calmer waters or use the ebb and flood tides to drift along the wall. Visibility across the various sites typically ranges from 5 to 30 metres depending on the specific location and conditions.
