Located in Marseille 07, Massilia Plongée sits at the gateway to the Parc National des Calanques. This is a premier location for divers looking to explore the diverse Mediterranean underwater landscape, from complex rock formations to historic wrecks.

After three decades of operation, the centre underwent a significant transformation in 2023, reopening with a 600m² facility designed specifically for the needs of technical and recreational divers. The setup prioritises both professional-grade gas blending and diver comfort, creating a hub for serious exploration.

The team is led by experienced professionals, including Anne Lerebourg and Mariusz Makowski, who bring deep expertise in technical diving and rebreather operations. This specialist knowledge is central to the centre's identity, making it a reliable base for those moving beyond standard recreational limits.

The centre operates with an intimate approach, limiting groups to 16 divers to maintain a high standard of safety and individual attention. All instruction is conducted in French, providing a focused environment for local and visiting technical divers alike.

The training programme covers the entire spectrum of diving, from introductory sessions like Baptême and Niveau 1 to advanced technical certifications. For recreational divers, the centre offers courses such as Plongeur Autonome 20m, Plongeur Encadré 40m, and various Niveau 2 and 3 levels.

Technical training is a core strength, with specific courses for Nitrox (including Nitrox confirmé 40m and full 60m) and a full range of Trimix training, including Trimix normoxique and Trimix Hypoxique. The centre also provides specialised CCR instruction, covering rEvo, Megalodon, CCR diluant air, and CCR Trimix profiles.

The centre operates a modified Lomac 9m50 vessel, which serves as the primary platform for trips out to the Calanques. The boat is configured to accommodate 16 recreational divers or 12 rebreather divers, ensuring there is sufficient space for technical configurations.

On board, you will find essential navigation and safety equipment, including GPS and a sonar. The vessel is also equipped with a dedicated decompression station (barre de palier) to facilitate safe technical profiles.

The shore-based facilities are built around a high-tech gas blending station. This includes Bauer compressors and a complete station for Nitrox and Trimix, featuring a booster to meet the requirements of technical diving profiles.

For those requiring rental equipment, the centre provides high-quality kit, including Scubapro BCDs and 7mm wetsuits. The technical rental selection is comprehensive, offering bi-bottle configurations, pony bottles, and the choice of steel or carbon cylinders. Rebreather divers can also access rEvo and Megalodon units.
