Plongée Montpellier provides a flexible approach to diving in the Mediterranean, catering to those who want to customise their experience. Rather than rigid schedules, the centre offers à la carte services, allowing you to select exactly the type of diving you desire.

To facilitate boat excursions, the centre works in partnership with Ecosystem, operating out of Palavas. This setup ensures you can access the best local sites via fast boat, making the logistics of your trip seamless and efficient.

The centre is led by Nathalie Royo, a highly experienced independent instructor with more than 20 years of expertise in the Montpellier region. Her deep knowledge of the local seabed and seasonal conditions provides a reliable foundation for any diver, whether you are a beginner or an experienced explorer.

Instruction is delivered in French, and the service is designed to be adaptable to your specific needs and skill level. Whether you are looking for a simple baptism or more advanced training, the focus remains on a flexible, personalised approach.

You can work towards internationally recognised certifications through a full range of courses. The curriculum covers everything from introductory baptisms to structured training programmes designed to build your skills and confidence underwater.

Excursions are organised via a partnership with Ecosystem and depart from Palavas. The fleet includes a fast boat designed to get you to the dive sites efficiently, ensuring you spend more time in the water and less time transiting.

The Mediterranean seabed here is home to a diverse array of species. You will encounter various Mediterranean groupers (Epinephelinae) and Dusky groupers (Epinephelus marginatus) patrolling the rocks, alongside Painted combers (Serranus scriba) and Gilt-head bream (Sparus aurata).

For those interested in macro life, the area offers plenty to see. Look for the Octopus (Octopoda) and the Coconut octopus, as well as various Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani) and Flabellina affinis. You may also spot Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) and Moray eels (Muraenidae) amongst the crevices.

Larger pelagics and mobile species add to the variety, including Mediterranean rainbow wrasse (Coris julis), European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax), and Barracuda (Sphyraena). You might even catch a glimpse of sea turtles or a Bottlenose dolphin during your excursion.

The best time to dive in this region is from March to the end of June, and again from September to December. During the peak summer months of July and August, the schedule shifts to accommodate the season.
