Cozumel Dive School

Cozumel Dive School is a PADI 5 Star Career Development Center situated in the centre of San Miguel de Cozumel. Since 2015, the school has established itself as a major training hub, having certified over 12,000 students and delivering thousands of certifications annually.

The reefs are home to a vast array of pelagics and reef fish. You can encounter eagle rays (Aetobatus), spotted eagle rays, and various sharks, including nurse sharks (Ginglymostoma cirratum), reef sharks (Carcharhinus), blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus), and Caribbean reef sharks (Carcharhinus). Large schools of fish, including jacks (Carangidae), snappers (Lutjanus), and barracuda, are common sights.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants provide constant interest for observant divers. Look for the splendid toadfish, various octopus (Octopus vulgaris), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae). Crustaceans such as spiny lobster (Palinuridae), lobster (Homaridae), and various shrimp (Caridea) are frequently found amongst the reef structure.

The seafloor and reef architecture are defined by diverse hard corals, brain corals, elkhorn coral, and large sponges, including barrel sponges and giant sponges. You will also find sea fans (Gorgoniidae), sea rods, and various deep-water gorgonians providing a complex habitat for the local marine life.

Cozumel is famous for its drift diving, and the reefs are known to have significant currents that divers should be prepared for. These currents are a defining characteristic of the local diving experience.

Night diving is a standard offering, allowing you to see the reef transform after dark, including the appearance of nocturnal species like the splendid toadfish and various octopus.
