That gives the menu a direct connection to Amed rather than the polished sameness of a generic resort kitchen. Vegetarian dishes are available, and breakfast can also be served in your room.

There is a bar and the restaurant serves exotic cocktails, which gives you the basic equipment for the important post-dive sequence: shower, food, drink, then a considered refusal to do anything strenuous. Room service, a minibar and packed lunches add flexibility when an early start or a full day out makes a formal meal less convenient.

Two outdoor swimming pools sit close to the ocean and restaurant, giving you an easy place to cool off without turning the afternoon into an organised activity. The spa is open daily from 9am to 9pm and keeps its capacity deliberately small, treating up to three guests at a time.
