Sea Creatures Diving

Located in Labuan Bajo, Sea Creatures Diving operates daily excursions into the heart of Komodo National Park. They specialise in navigating the diverse marine environments of the central, northern, and southern regions of the park, tailoring daily dive plans to match your specific experience level and interests.

What sets this centre apart is the efficiency of their transit. By using high-speed boats, they reach most dive sites in approximately 45 minutes, often arriving at the reef an hour earlier than the traditional wooden phinisi vessels used by other operators.

The centre operates with a strong emphasis on small group sizes, maintaining a ratio of four divers per guide. This ensures that whether you are navigating a drift dive or looking for macro life, you have dedicated attention from your instructor.

As a PADI Eco-Dive Center with Green Fins Silver certification, the team is deeply committed to marine conservation. They actively participate in the PADI Adopt the Blue programme and regularly organise site and beach clean-ups to protect the local ecosystem.

The training programme covers the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving, moving through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For those looking to progress their professional career or refine their skills, the centre offers Rescue Diver and Divemaster courses. They also provide the Nitrox specialty and refresher courses to ensure your skills and gas management are up to date.

The centre utilises a high-speed boat designed to minimise transit times between the mainland and the park's dive sites. The vessel is configured for comfort and efficiency, allowing you to spend more time underwater and less time travelling.

Onboard, you will find amenities including snacks, tea, coffee, and a full lunch provided by Copper Bonnet Bistro & Bar. After your dives, the crew provides warm towels to help you settle back in. The boat is also equipped to handle night dives, providing the necessary support for after-dark excursions.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit, featuring well-maintained Scubapro equipment. They stock wetsuits for both men and women in various lengths and thicknesses to suit the local conditions.

Nitrox is available and provided at no extra cost for certified divers. To support reef health, the centre also provides locally manufactured reef-safe sunscreen for use during your trips.

The waters of Komodo are famous for large pelagics and vibrant reef ecosystems. You can expect to encounter giant manta rays (Mobula alfredi), various species of sharks including reef sharks (Carcharhinus), whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus), and blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus). Schools of fish are a constant presence, from large predators like tuna (Thunnus) and trevallies to colourful reef fish like snapper (Lutjanus), surgeonfish (Acanthuridae), and various species of batfish (Platax).

On the reef, the biodiversity is immense. You will find a rich tapestry of hard corals, soft corals, sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and large sponges (Porifera). Larger reef residents such as the Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), various groupers (Epinephelus), and sea turtles (Cheloniidae) frequent these sites.

For macro enthusiasts, the area offers incredible opportunities to find specialised life. Look out for the flamboyant cuttlefish, ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), and various species of seahorses (Hippocampus kuda). The seabed also hosts nudibranchs, various species of octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and smaller creatures like seamoths and various shrimps.
