For those who prefer to use their own kit, the centre is well-equipped to support you. Nitrox is available for qualified divers, allowing for extended bottom times on many of the local sites.

The local waters are home to a diverse array of pelagics and reef fish. You will regularly encounter Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), yellow jacks (Carangidae), and various species of batfish, alongside snapper and rabbitfish. Schools of fusilier (Caesio) and jack (Carangidae) are common sights around the wrecks and reefs.

For those interested in macro life, the area offers plenty of interest. Keep an eye out for seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), various species of shrimp (Caridea), crabs (Brachyura), and octopus (Octopus vulgaris). You may also find nudibranchs, anemones, and various types of reef fish tucked into the crevices of the wrecks.

In the wider region, Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins are frequently observed, particularly between June and November. Sea turtles (Cheloniidae) are also a regular presence in the area, adding to the biodiversity of the local reefs.

Diving in this region is possible year-round. The local sites can experience currents ranging from light to strong, particularly around the Hardeep Wreck and certain reef areas, so being mindful of your buoyancy and positioning is important.

Visibility varies depending on the specific site and conditions, but generally ranges from 2 to 15 metres at the major wreck sites.
