Aloes Plongee

Aloès Plongée is situated in Cerbère, positioned right at the edge of the French-Spanish border. The centre operates within the Village des Aloès, placing you directly between the beaches of Terrimbo and Peyrefite, making the transition from your accommodation to the water seamless.

From April to November, you can dive the rich underwater landscapes of the Cerbère-Banyuls Marine Reserve. The location provides immediate access to some of the most significant Mediterranean habitats, from shallow reef flats to dramatic drop-offs and deep walls.

The centre focuses on both structured FFESSM training and autonomous exploration. Instructors are available to guide you through various levels, maintaining a ratio of one guide per diver to ensure safe and personalised supervision.

For those looking to train, the centre provides dedicated classroom spaces for theory and a changing area with lockers to manage your wet kit. The facility is designed to support everyone from beginners taking their first breath underwater to technical divers working on advanced certifications.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of FFESSM certifications. Beginners can start with the Niveau 1 (N1) or the PE40, while more experienced divers can progress through the Niveau 2 (N2), PA40, and Niveau 3 (N3).

For those looking to move into technical diving, the centre provides N4 and specialised technical diving courses. All training includes the use of the centre's equipment, though certification cards and licences are handled separately for higher levels.

The centre operates a BWA 28 Open, a versatile vessel capable of carrying up to 27 divers plus the pilot. Powered by twin 150ch Yamaha 4-stroke engines, the boat is designed to minimise transit times, getting you to the best dive sites quickly.

For larger groups, the centre can arrange multiple boats to accommodate up to 90 divers. This ensures that even during peak periods, you can maintain efficient schedules for your exploration dives.

Aloès Plongée is an Aqualung partner, meaning you will find a range of recent Aqualung equipment available for use. The centre offers full kit hire for those not travelling with their own regulator, BCD, or fins.

On-site facilities include dedicated changing rooms and a vestiaire specifically for storing wet equipment after a dive. This allows you to move comfortably through the residence without carrying soaked gear.

The local marine life is dominated by large pelagics and reef residents. You will frequently encounter grouper and great barracuda patrolling the deeper sections of the reefs and walls.

The underwater scenery is defined by vibrant fixed life. Gorgonians and red coral cover the rocky structures, providing a colourful backdrop to the dive sites around the Cap Creus reserve.

On the reefs, the biodiversity is high, with various species of sea fans adding texture to the Mediterranean seabed.

The best period for diving in this region is from April to November. During these months, the sea conditions allow for reliable access to the marine reserve and the Spanish sites nearby.
