Nice Diving

Nice Diving is situated at the Port of Nice, providing a direct gateway to the diverse marine environments of the Côte d'Azur. Established in 2022, the centre operates with a focus on maintaining high standards of comfort and equipment quality for every diver.

The centre is active from April to December, offering both morning and afternoon departures. This schedule allows for consistent exploration of the local coastline, which includes everything from shallow reef flats to dramatic vertical walls.

The centre is multi-affiliated, meaning they can facilitate training and certifications through PADI, SSI, FFESSM, and CMAS. This flexibility is useful for divers looking to cross-reference their skills or follow specific national federation pathways in France.

Instruction is provided in both French and English. The team manages a variety of training programmes, ranging from basic introductory dives to professional-level instructor development, ensuring that both novice divers and career-oriented professionals are well-supported.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering all major international and national standards. Beginners can start with PADI Scuba Diver or SSI Scuba Diver, progressing through Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses.

For those following the French FFESSM/CMAS path, the centre offers everything from PE 12m up to Niveau III. Professional development is also a core part of the centre's mission, with Divemaster and IDC programmes available for those looking to enter the industry.

Specialty training is widely available, including Nitrox, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver courses. The centre also provides essential safety training such as EFR, React Right, and O2 First Aid.

The dive boats are designed with diver comfort in mind, featuring dedicated areas to change and providing shelter from the sun. This makes the transition from the quay to the water much more relaxed, especially during the warmer months.

For those looking to extend their time underwater, the boats support night dives. Nitrox is available on board, allowing for more flexible dive planning on multi-dive outings.

The centre maintains a high standard of equipment, with new Scubapro kit available for hire. You can rent a full set of equipment or select individual items such as wetsuits, fins, and masks.

For night diving or technical requirements, dive computers are available for rent. The facility also provides Nitrox, with various percentages available to suit your dive profile.

The local waters are home to a variety of larger species. You will often encounter Groupers (Epinephelus), Moray eels (Muraenidae), and Great barracuda near the rocky structures and drop-offs.

The reef is well-populated by diverse marine life, including schools of fish and various species of octopus. Sea fans (Gorgoniidae) provide much of the colourful backdrop for dives along the walls and pinnacles.

In the more sheltered areas and rocky crevices, you can find common dentex (Dentex dentex) and brown meagre, adding to the biodiversity of the Mediterranean seabed.

The best window for diving in this region is from April to December. The area is known for its reliable visibility, which typically ranges between 15 and 25 metres.

While the coastline offers a variety of environments, from shallow bays to steep walls, divers should always be mindful of the local topography when planning their descent.
